It's a strange time to be posting I know (11pm on a Friday night!) but it's the first chance I've had today, so I thought I'd get on it before I forget!
This page is the second and final layout from my from Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using the 'Cut & Paste' collection by Amy Tangerine.
I like this one.......not sure why other than things worked out nicely.....almost to plan!
Love This.
I really like the background page which has the word love 'semi' cut from it, but I wanted to make it stand out a little more, so I doodled around one edge, slotted a few pennants behind and curled the letters upward slightly.
I created a little texture in the background by using molding paste and a stencil, then stamped over top.
Finally I used a mixture of chipboard stickers and a wood veneer backed with a little PP, to create the journalling.
That's about all for now so I guess if the weather forecast is correct, I'll be hunkering down to endure this weeks snow storm!
Have a good weekend,
Jayne.x.
Time for another new challenge over at Little Red Wagon.........
Tracy is holding the reigns for the first time this week, and she'd like to see a card for a child......any occasion will do!
It's strange, but most of the cards I make are probably for kiddo's, especially those with coloured images as I always tend to go for the 'cutesy' ones.
Now however, when I'm given the task of making something specifically for a mini kinda person, I hummed and arrrd so to speak.....couldn't quite decide what I wanted to do till I finally just jumped in yesterday and went with the flow.
Here's the result.....
I think I like it.......I like the image at least!
All of the details are cut with my Silhouette - I'm still at that stage where any excuse to play will do!
The image is an oldie from Pollycraft (the store closed a while ago I believe)and colouring is courtesy of my Copics.
That's about it so why not head off to your crafting table and set to work on a cutesy creation of your own. Link up over on the blog and be inspired by the other Girlfriends while you're there too.
Keep warm (extremely difficult when it's -30 out there I know!) and have a great day.
I'll see you Friday,
Jayne.x.
OK I am really sick of Winter now.......no kidding!
Took me an hour to shovel the ton of snow off our driveway this morning, and my back hasn't forgiven me since. Hibernation is the next step I think.
The only good thing to come out of this is an excuse for staying home and crafting, although with the colds/sickness rotating through the family right now, I doubt I'll be getting a lot of that done either!
Good thing I still have a backlog of layouts to post, so today's is from my Two Scrapbook Friends kit of a couple of months ago (my bad!), the 'Cut & Paste' collection from Amy Tangerine and American Crafts.
I Love You.....Remember.
Some lovely neutral colour tones in this collection as well as funky patterns.
I love these canvas hearts (you can pick them up loose at the store) and I stitched another heart onto some vellum using one of the Amy Tangerine Stitching templates.
Chipboard stickers help with the title......
and I liked the idea of a rain cloud of hearts......a shower of love! :-)
There was a heart printed at the bottom corner of the page, so I stitched a vellum pocket over top to collect a few of the wooden hearts.
There's ink and a little texture paste around the edges of the page to finish things off.
I'll be back on Wednesday with my Little Red Wagon post so till then, keep warm and take it easy,
Jayne.x.
Good morning
I thought I'd post bright and early on a Saturday morning as I didn't quite make it here yesterday. In a couple of hours I'll be off for a happy day of scrapping, good food and good company with a lovely bunch of gals so 'Happy Day' for me........as long as the weather actually co-operates and allows me to get there!
I'm posting a layout today of my daughter's school photo which I completed last week. I'm impressed that I've actually scrapped it so soon, 3 months after receiving it, especially when there are still Kindergarten photo's to be done! Oh well, she's now in Grade 5 so no point in rushing I guess.
Love the bright cheery papers on this one from Simple stories, a perfect 'school' themed collection.
I took inspiration from an older sketch over on Stuck?!.......
and had a little fun with the background. I used a fine line marker and a stencil to create the 'brickwork', then inked up a distress kinda stamp for around the edge of the page.
Gathered a few embellies for the bottom corner..........
and accomplished another 'Silhouette' success for the title!
I wanted to create 'college' style alpha's, so all they needed were a little faux stitching to finish them nicely.
Hopefully I'll get a few pages done today between snacks, so I'll be back on Monday.
Have a great weekend,
Jayne.x.
Yep, that just about covers it for this weeks challenge over at...........
Joanne would like to see a little 'less is more' for her Clean and Simple challenge.
Ahhh it almost feels like a reprieve when these challenges come along - no guilt associated with quashing that need to add more!
Nope, just enjoy a little colouring, a snippet of an embellie here or there and Bob's your Uncle you're done.
Here goes:
I played with my Cameo again.....cut a section from a 12" x 12" background, added a border then used it as an overlay(believe me, this is a major accomplishment in my book!).
The pretty little lady from Saturated Canary is coloured with Copic's and fussy cut for me by my electronic assistant......that's just a fancy way of me saying I figured out another button in the software!
Oh, I did manage to design and cut the pennant too, then used a Sketch pen to add the sentiment and the outline.......WOW.....3 new buttons in one day!
That's about all from me so all you need is 10 minutes to join in with this weeks challenge. Link up over on the blog and check out the beautifully 'clean and simple' projects from the rest of the Girlfriends while you're there.
Have a great day and I'll see you Friday with a layout cause I have a couple of scrappy dates planned this week......seriously hoping to get my fingers dirty if inspiration strikes!
Ttfn,
Jayne.x.
Good morning.
I've been a very slack blogger of late so starting this week I thought I'd make the effort and post (hopefully!) a little more regularly.
Although today is Monday and usually brings with it a healthy dose of the 'blahs', I'm feeling quite uplifted! Probably due to the fact that today is my Birthday, but more likely due to the fact that I don't have to think about prepping/cooking dinner tonight (Lol).........we're dining out in honour of the numerous years (!) I've graced the planet :-)
Anyhow, I have lots of layouts to catch up on so I thought I'd start today with a double!
Now you know me and doubles - like oil and water.....we don't mix too well, but considering it's only January ie. one month into 2014 and I'm already posting a double page, I think I'm doing pretty good.
My quota is approximately one per year so I'm done....mission complete......I just won't linger on the fact that this was one I actually finished last November, and I'm only now getting around to posting!
Oh well, it's here now - not one of my best (doubles never are!) but fun memories:
I made a toothpick flag and stole borrowed another from my bff Carola......she's get's a little touchy if her 'mention' is not here (lol).
A little bit of paper folding up here, and I finally found a use for these chipboard stickers from K&Co that I've had in my stash forever!
I also made a pocket behind one of the photo's to hold the 'ticket' journal tag.
Papers are from Simple Stories I think, and that just about covers everything so time for me to go.
I'll be back bright and early on Wednesday morning for a new Little Red Wagon challenge cause guess what? I've actually made my card already.....must be a miracle! No crafting at midnight on Tuesday for me this week.
Have a great day and I'll see you then,
Jayne.x.
Good morning!
Here I am bright and early for this weeks Little Red Wagon Challenge.......
Rosanne is challenging us all today and she want us to be inspired by the Pantone colour of the year.........Orchid.
Now don't be ashamed if you have absolutely no idea what colour this actually is (I thought orchids were predominantly white!!), cause I'm going to make it perfectly clear.......we want to see 'purple'!
Lots of purple please and there's no denying the 'purple' on my creation.
I've been branching out with my Silhouette this last week, so this is a definite 'playing with paper' kinda card.
Here goes:
Like I said......purple!
I also won't go into how fiddly those flowers were.....but they were very fiddly.
Other than the newness of my Silhouette, everything else is extremely old stuff from my stash......especially the paper - that horrible thin stuff that no-one uses anymore and I didn't even realize I still had at the back of my closet!
So go ahead and dig into your own Wagon for some 'purply' goodness......you never know what you might find!
Just remember to link up your fabulous creation over on the blog. The Girlfriends are waiting there with a little more inspiration for you.
I'll be seeing you soon,
Jayne.x.
Hi there, it's Wednesday which means it's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge.........
Jan is leading the way today and asking for an 'All Purpose Card'.......one of those you can send for pretty much any occasion!
Well mine probably wouldn't work as a 'sympathy' card, but it can be used for most other events.
I like to think of it as a 'using up my sticker stash' kinda card. You know those 12"x12" sticker sheets that co-ordinate with a paper collection? I have dozens of them and I've no idea why cause I'm really not much of a sticker person.
So here goes, no re-invention of the wheel here, quick and easy and a small dent made in my stash!
Yep......used up 7 of those babies, this particular batch is an oldie from Echo Park.
Why not head to your craft room right now and create your own 'All Purpose Card' cause you know you're gonna need them!
Don't forget to link up over at the Little Red Wagon blog and whilst you're there, check out what the other Girlfriends have been up to. We have two brand spanking new members joining the team, Jodi and Tracy, a talented pair they are too, so stop by and say 'Hi'.
I'll be seeing you later this week with a layout or two if I can get myself into gear.....or dig myself out of this icy snow hole we're living in right now.
Have a great week, keep warm,
Jayne.x.
Hi there and a Happy New Year to you!
I think last night was the quietest, most uneventful New Years Eve I've ever had.......and to be honest that suits me just fine!
I sat in my jammies, watched a little TV, did a little crafting, worked on the PC - yep that was about the extent of it.
Just as well I managed a little crafting though, as there's no denying the dedication of the Little Red Wagon Girlfriends in bringing you this weeks challenge on January 1st no less!
It's my turn to host, so it's quite fitting that the theme I chose for this weeks challenge is 'New Beginnings'.
You might decide on a 'New Year' type of card, or 'New Home', 'New Job'.........I'm even allowing liberties in letting you create with that brand 'new' Scrappy item you acquired at Christmas!
The choice is yours as long as your creation has a connection to something 'New'.
I have a scrappy girlfriend in need of a 'New Baby' card so that's the route I chose.
Colouring is with Copic's and the digi is an oldie but goodie from Lori Boyd (I'm still convinced she has some of the cutest baby/kiddo digi's around!).
Hopefully you'll get a chance to join in with our 'New' challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week, just remember to link up your creation over on the blog and we'll be stopping by to say 'Hi'.
The Girlfriends have a generous dose of inspiration for you of course, but unfortunately we are waving goodbye to two of our team........Regan and Tammy.......their creativity will be sadly missed around here!
Have a great week,
Jayne.x.
