Smiler!

Good morning.

I have a layout to post today, which just happens to fit in nicely with this months Crafty Challenge Amanda is hosting over on the Two Scrapbook Friends blog.

It's one I finished a couple of months ago but as usual, I'm a little late Blogging it!

Amanda's challenge is to use a little paint on your creation, and when I was deciding what to post on here today, I realized I could just about scrape in under the wire before the Aug 31st deadline.

There's a $25 Gift Certificate to the store up for grabs so why not join in.......shame I'm not eligible!

The photo's on this page must be getting on a little, as my youngest shows a glowing set of baby teeth - I think she's lost 6 or 7 since then!

Here she is in all her glory.........Smiler!

I love a hot pink and black combo.

The before mentioned paint is splattered across the background and I added a little stamped chicken wire too.

A few layered embellies and some cool glitter alpha's........she would be pretty disappointed if there was no glitter involved!

Papers for this one are definitely from my stash........a 2010 Echo Park collection called 'Be Mine'.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the final days of summer vacation and I'll be seeing you next week,

Little Red Wagon #200 - Pretty Polka Dots.

Hello.

Well I didn't quite make it back here yesterday now did I?!

Oh well, only one day late.......getting better at least.

Time is still taken up looking after the little guy Charlie........yes he is still sneaking in a few potty breaks in my house!  One rug has already made it's way to the 'Magic Carpet in the Sky' as it seems to be his bathroom of choice.  Since it's disappearance though, things are improving slightly - I see the light at the end of the tunnel........just have to 'train' my girls to pay attention to him rather than the Disney Channel when it's their watch.

Anyhow, on with today's post..........it's Thursday which means I am officially one day late for this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge......

.........but a slight improvement on last week so who knows, I may even post on time next week!

Jan issued our challenge this week and she'd like to see some Polka Dots......large, small, a lot or a little.......doesn't really matter as long as there are some in there somewhere.

I decided to go with a Gift Tag, before realizing my offering of Polka Dots was a little poor to say the least.

So I added a flower, and then decided there were even fewer Polka Dots on display!

Sooooooo I finally concluded with a Gift Bag and made darn sure there were some Polka Dots on there!

Here we go with my Gift Baggy/Taggy kinda thing!

Sorry for the glare in the photo, but you may notice that other than the bag, this is purely made up from the scraps left over from the layout I posted earlier this week.

Nice when that happens.........the 'hoarder' in me can chill knowing I'm no longer compelled to keep those few pieces of patterned paper I may desperately need at some point in the future - a nice clean break!

Here's a close up of those Polka Dots, just in case you're struggling to see them.

Well I'm off to check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have been up to..........please join us for this weeks challenge over on the blog if you get a chance.

Before I go, I can't leave without another cute piccie of Charlie of course.  I'm sensing a little routine here..........every time I bring myself to the PC, he follows and curls up to fall asleep at my feet under the desk.

Go on, you know you can't resist - everyone say Aaaaawwww!

I'll be seeing you soon I hope so enjoy the day,
Jayne.x.

Adore......and a Sketch!

Hi there, it's puppy's nap time which means I have a little time to post before returning to 'poop scooping' duties!

I'm playing catch up with my posts as usual, so today's originally debuted on the Two Scrapbook Friends blog a couple of weeks ago.

It's my turn to host our Sketch Challenge for the month, and for those who didn't know, we have a new format running these days.  Twice a month we run a Crafty Challenge and a Sketch Challenge and these are now hosted on the blog........you no longer have to be a member of the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, just link up your entry on the Two Scrapbook Friends blog post and you could be in with a chance of winning a $25 Gift Certificate for the store!

Not bad huh?

So, as mentioned it's my turn to host this months Sketch Challenge.......all we need is a Sketch!

Here goes:

I like this one - easy peasy and doesn't really need a lot of extra effort to complete a page.

I have a sample for you of course, this time using 'Vintage Bliss' from Simple Stories.  I love this collection and you may still be able to grab a few sheets from the store.

Adore.

Don't you just love wood grain?

It adds the perfect balance of pattern to your background whilst helping maintain the idea of white space.

Of course I can never resist adding a little more, so out came the stencils, molding paste and even a little 'White Out' here and there!

Pennants also made an appearance again as they're still pretty popular amongst us crafters.

This paper line lends beautifully to a little fussy cutting of the butterflies, so I added those in place of the flower shapes.

One little tip when adding a 3D butterfly to your page, is that I always glue down the centers, then add a small foam dot just underneath the wings.......helps maintain the 3D effect when they go into your album.

Well that's about all for today.

I hope you'll get a chance to play along and have a little fun with this months Sketch.

See you tomorrow for Little Red Wagon day.
Till then,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #199 - Layers

Hi there.

Apologies for my late posting of this weeks Little Red Wagon Challenge.......

........I was on vacation till the beginning of the week, had problems with both FireFox and IE since we got home - neither wanted me to make an appearance here so I'm now attempting Google Chrome, then most of my time has been taken up by this little guy:

Our new bundle of fluff......Charlie.

I've been transported back to the crazy baby days of trying to fit in every possible task during 'nap' time, and although it seems to be his mission to Christen every rug in my house (you know what I mean!), I'll forgive him anything cause he's so darn cute!!

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of Charlie around here, but right now let's get back to the task at hand........this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge was issued by Joanne and she'd like to see at least 3 layers.

No problem!

I am now wondering how a card with 6 or 7 layers on there manages to look as though there's barely anything on it!

Oh well, mission complete.

Papers are 'Fabulous' from Simple Stories and digi is from Pollycraft, coloured with Copic's.  The layout was inspired by this weeks Deconstructed Sketch.

You still have a few more days to join in with this weeks challenge so why not?  Check out some inspiration from the rest of the girlfriends too.

Me, I'm off to do laundry as Charlie's fast asleep at my feet.

Hopefully I'll have a little more success in regards to posting on here next week, so I'll see you then.

Have a great weekend,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #198 - Sunshine!

Hello again.

It's Little Red Wagon day.........

..........which means it's time for a card or other suitably awesome creation.

Yes, today's is a card, and awesome of course! (lol)

Well maybe not awesome, but I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome, despite the fact that it's nothing like what I intended.

This weeks challenge is to put a 'Sun' on your project.

Easily done.....I'm feelin' Summery, even though the sun ain't shinin'!

Our vacation is imminent and we get our new bundle of fluffy puppy in less than a week........what more do I need to lift the spirits?

A card that co-operates and turns out better than expected is just the icing on the cake.

Here goes.........'Hello Sunshine!"

Now that I think on it, I'm not exactly sure what was originally intended!

All I had planned was the sun.....duh, there's a no brainer considering the challenge this week.

After that I added a little of this, popped a little of that and before you know it, I had a whole little scene going on!

Ah well, the best laid plans..........are usually no plan at all in my case so who cares?!

Papers are from Pebbles Inc. (Nutmeg Grove I believe) and the stamp is cute 'Sugarplum - Emma' from CC Designs. She's coloured with Copic's.

I've still not decided if the torn pieces are meant to be water or sand, so I popped the front layer and just stuck her toes in there........the decision is yours!

Hop on over to the Little Red Wagon blog and check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have been up to.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge......think of it as a little encouragement to the real ball of fire in the sky........maybe he'll be guilt tripped into making an appearance!

Have a great day, and I think I may see you once more this week if I get my act together.

Take care,
Jayne.x.

A Birthday Tradition......almost!

Good morning, thought I'd hop on here bright and early for a change.

Time for a layout today, one that's been sitting there since I completed it some time in April!  It's documenting my hubby's Birthday last year, so I'm just scraping in under the wire by blogging it before this years event.

We seem to quite often end up at The Keg for his Birthday celebration......definitely no complaints from me cause if someone else is cooking dinner, I'm happy!

This one's actually a double too.....Wow.......certainly exceeded my twice annual production of doubles for this year!

Here goes:

So I guess technically this is two singles, because I completed them both as individual layouts.  However the papers are obviously from the same line (S.e.i) and the photographs are of the same event......so I'm claiming a double!

I covered some chipboard shapes, used a little hardware and got to work folding a chevron strip.

There's a little more metal on the second page.......a Maya Road heart, a charm, more hardware and a stapled, folded paper strip.

I'm guessing this page was during my 'rediscovery' of that old favourite.....eyelets!  Certainly got rid of a few on here.

And that's all.

I'll be here again tomorrow as it's Wednesday.....Little Red Wagon day!

Hope to see you then so enjoy the rest of your day,
Jayne.x.

Queen Bee.

Hi how's it going?

I just wanted to finish off my final reveal for the last Two Scrapbook Friends DT kit I worked with, before I move on to the next one.  This one was using the 'Bumble' collection by Adorn It (if you can remember back to the staggered posts that have randomly appeared here over the last few weeks!)

Anyhow, my final project was a card, so today's offering will be quick, and hopefully painless!

Here's 'Queen Bee'..........could come in handy for a fair few ladies I know!

No rocket science here, just various layers of the patterned papers and a few die cuts thrown in for good measure. The brass colored crown matches nicely and had been sitting in my stash for quite some time.

See I told you.....short sweet and painless!

Have a great weekend and I'll be seeing you on Monday,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #197 - Falling to Pieces!

Hello.

It's my turn to host this weeks challenge over at..........

and I'd like to see a little 'paper piecing'.

Here's my fairly simple offering this week:

I say 'simple' but why is it that those are the kind that always seem to take the longest?

What with stamping five times over and fussy cutting to match......not the quickest project!

I hope you'll get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge over on the blog......check out the paper pieced creations from the rest of the girlfriends while you're there.

Have a great day and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #196 - Christmas in July!

Hi there.

I'm running a little behind with today's post (as is the norm!)......should have appeared yesterday, but things were a little busy and time got the better of me.

The usual joys of cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, looking at more fluffy bundles of fur (the puppy variety) and generally entertaining the kiddo's..........entertaining resulted in the form of "Let's detox and vacuum the couch and clean every other surface in the family room!".

Much fun had by all!!

Anyhow, yesterday over at Little Red Wagon......

........our hostess, Rosanne wanted to see a little Christmas spirit.......just about snook that one in on the last day of July for a "Christmas in July" challenge.

I'd coloured a Christmas image quite a while ago - probably one of those from last Christmas that never actually made it to a card, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to dig it out and be ahead of the game for this years celebrations.

Winter Joy.

Changed things up a little and went with a simple Easel card.

Haven't made one of these in a looooong time!

The digi is from Pollycraft and coloured with Copic's.

Papers are from Authentique.

Hopefully you might get a chance to join along with this weeks challenge over on the blog.

Also check out what the rest of the girlfriends came up with, if you need a little festive inspiration!

Have a great day.

I'm off to get things rolling with the "Let's see who can clean a bathroom the fastest" game.

The joys of summer vacation!

Take care and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.
