It's Challenge Day........

Yep, it's arrived again. Another Sunday has come around which means it's time for a new challenge over at the OSAAT Challenge Blog. Our theme this week, which has been chosen by fellow DT mate Choccy, is to create something with 'Mom' in mind......could be Birthday, Mother's Day, New Mother......whatever, as long as it's of the maternal variety.

We have another great sponsor of course...............

...........Bunny Zoe's Crafts, who are offering a gift voucher for their online store, to one lucky winner.

Now, before I show you my card, I should mention that I did struggle a little with this weeks theme. I certainly have nothing against Mother's........having one and being one and all, and the image I got to play with this week is no doubt beautiful. It was created by Sylvie's Stamps, and is part of the Stitchy Bear Store March collaboration, which you can get for free, if you spend $10 or more. Here's a little sneak peak.........

So, to get to my 'problem'. You might say the image I used has a slight tendency toward the 'Easter' variety. I'll let you decide...........

All I can say is I love how this turned out, so please forgive my lack of 'Mom'ness, as this will be finding it's way to my Mom (and Dad........but sorry Dad, you're not mentioned in this challenge so pretend you never heard that!).

I coloured this week with Prisma pencils......yay the Prisma's have returned! Paper is from the new We R Memory Keepers 'Peep' line, ribbon is from my stash.....tied with my lovely, lovely Bow Easy of course. I'm fairly proud of the 'wonky' handmade flower, and the sentiment is printed using Word and cut with a Nestie. Almost forgot the Fiskars border punch I used along the edge.

I think that's about it, so head on over to the OSAAT blog and check out what the other lovely ladies came up with.

I'll be back later as always with challenge hopefuls.

Have a wonderful Sunday

When it rains it pours...........

Hi there....me again. Gosh, two visits already this week! This blogging thing could become a habit.

Anyhow, thought I'd drop in with a card I made a couple of weeks ago, and forgot to post. This was actually made pretty quickly, apart from the drying time required for the large amount of Glossy Accents. I felt the need to cover the whole image in the stuff...........but enough waffling from me. I'll show you the image........you'll get the picture..........

See what I mean? I wanted to create the rubberised/PVC type of look, so what could be better than Glossy Accents.

I used Copic's for this one, and didn't have to worry too much about colour choices..........just 3 shades of yellow, hence the quickness. Kept the layout fairly simple with just two DP's in the same colour (October Afternoon I think!) and black card stock, and here I go again..........don't you just love any colour with black? So sharp.

The image is actually a clip art freebie from Arthur's Free Clip Art, ribbon is from my stash, the charm, I believe is Blue Moon Beads from Michael's and the sentiment is another freebie from the lovely Paulette at Create with TLC.

Love it, if I say so myself!

I'll be back a little later with some challenge hopefuls, and who knows, you may even see me again this week. Will wonders never cease?

Have a great day.

Another 'sweetie'.........

Hi there, are you enjoying 'Family Day here in Canada? With the snow we had overnight, this roughly translates to a day stuck inside with 'the family' driving you crazy! LOL

Anyhow, thought I'd hop into blogland with a cute card. I've coloured up a super sweet Lori Boyd image, I've been meaning to get my hands on for quite some time. Her name is Nellie and she's one of the 'Spoonfuls' which you can find at by LORI Designs..............

So, I had a couple of pointers for inspiration on this card...........apart from the fact that the image is ridiculously cute, so how could you not want to colour her up!

Firstly, my local scrapbook store, Two Scrapbook Friends, are running a current card challenge on their forum, to use buttons on you creation. Say no more, although I did dig into a new variety of felt ones, which I picked up at the store last week. They're great to work with and a really great price!

Secondly, I found a sketch online at Karen Giron's Blog, The Sweetest Thing, which I thought would work beautifully
I did 'flip' it, just in case you're confused!

Lastly, and believe me, this was a complete coincidence..........there is another colour challenge currently running over at the Lollipop Shop (home to By LORI Designs), the colour contenders being..................

I had no intention of entering this card, and had already chosen my patterned paper and coloured my image, before I checked out the challenge. Must have received some subliminal messages, cause I seem to have got the colours pretty close. The only thing I had to add was the espresso coloured card stock for matting.

So, the deets very quickly........I coloured with Copic markers, papers are Pixie Liscious from Cosmo Cricket, buttons as previously mentioned, and the 'Sweet' rub-on has been sitting in my stash forevah.......no idea which make!

That's about it for today, but I think I'll be back fairly soon this week, as I have a few things prepped and ready to go.....most unusual for me! I'm also really wanting to get another scrapbook LO done this week, but I guess we'll see.....better not be too optimistic!

Have a great day.

Clara Cupcake..........

Hi there......how's it going? Hope you're having a good Sunday, even if it is rather windy in these parts. Another week has rolled by and it's time for a new challenge over at the OSAAT Challenge Blog. Our theme this week has been chosen by the lovely Nat.....one of the DT members, and she has only one rule.....'No Square Cards'.

Our sponsor this week is........... and she is offering a gift voucher to their online store. This week, I got to colour up an image from Hope Jacare Doodles called Clara Cupcake which you can find at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store.............

Yep.....definitely not square! I kept this fairly simple, mainly because the circle card is quite a bit smaller than the 6" square I tend to make.

Clara is coloured with Copic's.....again! Prisma's will be making a comeback soon, I promise. The lacy die cut is a 'Nestie' with ribbon threaded through, papers are from Bo Bunny, and the sentiment is actually a 'freebie' from Bizzy Becks. I also added a little faux stitching around the edge with a fine line marker.

That's it for this week, so hop on over to OSAAT to check out the other DT creations.....why not join in the fun whilst you're there?

I'll be back later as usual with some challenge hopefuls.

Have a great day.

Boy oh boy..........

Hi, just popping in, a little late in the day today, but I wanted to post a card that's been sitting on my desk for a fair few days. Another boy card......we don't see many of those around here, but this one is oozing with sweetness.

I've used another cute Puddle Jumper image from Lori Boyd, called 'Kyle', and you can find him of course at By LORI Designs......................

It also ties in very nicely with the current challenge running over there, the colour scheme required being.................
If you want to join in the fun, and give yourself the chance of winning a sweet image, you still have a little time, as the challenge closes tomorrow at midnight.

Kyle was coloured again with Copic's, and papers are a combination of Martha Stewart and October Afternoon.

I'm sure I'll find some challenges for Kyle to head into, so I'm off to do that right now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

A White on White Birthday.....

Hello, me again with my second post of the day.......another creation for the OSAAT Birthday Bash!

You can read all about the details in my previous post, but to continue our theme of celebrating with 'Girlie' things, I thought I'd make an ultra feminine, classy, but still fairly girlie, white on white card. Plus the fact that it's my MIL's birthday in a couple of weeks, so why not kill two birds with one stone. I used a beautiful image from Blackberry Lane Designs, which you can find of course at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store , called 'Tulips in Vase'.............

.........outside view..............

.......and inside............... ......close up...........

Did I add enough photo's, do ya think? lol.

So to celebrate one of our awesome sponsor's this week......'Copic'........this image is most definitely coloured with the afore mentioned. I gotta tell ya......I'm lovin me the Copic's right now. I'm still no expert, but it's definitely true that the more you use them.....the better you become (I hope!). Well I certainly feel more comfortable with them, and at least have a feel for
what I should be doing. Practise makes perfect they say.

The deets are fairly basic on here......it's a gate fold card with an extra 'flappy piece' in the center.....YES, that's a technical term! I used basic embossed white card stock together with pink for matting. A Martha Stewart punch creates the border, the stick pin is Maya Road, flowers and pearls are $$ store and the yummy ribbon has been recycled from the packaging on the PJ's I received at Christmas! The sentiment is actually a freebie I picked up quite a while ago from Devilish Designs.

That's it folks, so get yourselves over to the OSAAT challenge blog and join in the fun!

I'll be back a little later with challenge entries.....til then......have a good one.

A touch of 'Vintage'........

Good morning, it's Sunday, so here I am again with another DT creation for a brand new challenge over at OSAAT. First off, I have to say 'Happy 1st Birthday' OSAAT! Yep today we are celebrating our Big Birthday Bash, which basically means more prizes for you this week, from a whole array of sponsors, so you won't want to miss entering.

Our theme for this weeks challenge is to celebrate with 'Girlie Things'.....you know the ones........ribbon, flowers, bling, pins......all the stuff we love to play with.

So, I have two projects to show you today, the second will be following in the next post. First up, a touch of vintage using an image from one of our sponsors.......Dezina World, together with some lovely papers from Floppy Latte Designs......'Vintage Vision' (which you can find at the Stitchy Bear store).............

Well, I've never actually created a grunged up, vintage style of.............well....box before, so I'm fairly pleased with how it's turned out. I guess a $1.25 box from the $$ store can be a good investment.

The deets are pretty obvious with this one.......I covered with papers, added my image, lace, bling, flowers, Tim Holtz ticket, grunged everything up a little with distress inks and there we are. This has already been claimed by my youngest for her special things........hairbands, an elastic, a half eaten lollipop, a favourite cheerio! I dare not dig any deeper!!

Make sure you hop over to the OSAAT blog this week to catch up on the major creativity presented by the DT and don't forget to enter this weeks challenge.

I'll be back in a little while with some challenge entries, and even sooner with my second creation...........see you in a jiffy.

Dream..........

Guess what I did over the weekend? I closed myself in a room and didn't leave, (well except to pop out for supplies) but the point is............I SCRAPPED! I havn't done any scrapbooking for close to a year, but this weekend, I took the plunge and joined in with my local stores on-line crop. The result was 6....yes 6 layouts and 1 card.

Thought I'd share one of them with you............

Oh it's good to be back!

Fabulous........

Well here I am again with my second OSAAT DT post this morning. Did you miss me?lol If you're looking for my first post, including 'deets' of sponsor's etc, then scroll down.

So, second up, this time a card, using a 'fabulous' image by Stitchy herself (which you can find at the Stitchy Bear Stamps store), here's Babe..........

So, again, something a little different for me.....a side stepper card. I love how this turned out, a little 'vintage' but still with plenty of colour. The image is great to colour and I'm very proud of myself as I only used Copic's. Here's the details:

DP's - Cosmo Cricket. Sentiment digi - Create with TLC (freebie from the lovely Paulette!). Tickets - Tim Holtz. Ribbon and flowers - Michaels. Charm - Blue Moon (I think!). Inks - Tim Holtz.........and that's it.

Here's another quick look showing the folds............

So that's it from me for today, although I'll probably be back later after hunting challenges.

Have a great day..........keep warm!

Challenge time........

Happy Sunday, can't believe it's that time of the week again already! There's a new challenge over at the OSAAT challenge blog, and we have two sponsors for you this week, Creative Craft and............

.....which basically means more prizes. The theme this week is 'Have fun with Digi's', so I guess a type of 'Anything Goes' as long as there's a digi involved!

I have 2 projects to show you this week, but I'll be back with the second in a later post. So, for my first, I got to have fun with some great digi papers..........the 'Zen' paper pack by JLJ Designs, which you can find at the Stitchy Bear Stamps store..................

Hmmm, not my usual type of card huh? Thought I'd try something a little different, and altered a wooden box/glasses case from the $1.50 bin at Michaels! I've gotta say though, I love the colour and design of these papers. Added a few pearls, feathers and silky type of cord and I'm done!

If you'd like to join in with our challenge this week, then hop over to the OSAAT blog and check out what the rest of the DT came up with whilst you're there.
Happy crafting, and I'll be back very shortly with my second post.
