Little Red Wagon #248 - Oh Snap!

It seems I'm playing catch up again with this weeks.......

mainly due to yesterday being spent pampering my girls at the Spa for their Birthday treats.

By the time this Momma had got home after a day of watching facials, fizzy foot baths, mani's, pedi's and paying the bill (!) I hadn't got the energy for much else.

So, this week Joanne is heading the challenge and she would like to see a camera somewhere on your creation.

I went with the obvious - one huge camera!

The design is pretty simple because I liked the teal/black colour scheme and didn't want to add much more on there.  Also, I needed a 'Ooops I forgot' kinda card in a hurry!

Why not get started on your own camera creation and link up over at the Little Red Wagon blog, where you'll find a little more inspiration provided by my fellow Girlfriends.

I'll be seeing you again later this week.

Have fun,
Jayne.x.

Hello Disney!

Alrighty, I think it's about time for another post on here.

Today I'm finally finishing up my creations from a Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using another awesome collection of Disney themed papares/embellies by Queen & Co.

I finished these what seems like eons ago but still seem to find myself playing catch-up when it comes to blogging!

Oh well!

Today's page is the exact opposite to my first (which you can check out here) which captured the final day of our Disney vacation.......waiting for the bus to take us to the airport to be precise!

Nope, today's photo's were taken when we very first arrived at the Magic Kingdom.....still in Ontario weather related travel clothes!

Hello Disney!

I love that I was able to pick up the Disney style font 'Waltograph', free from Dafont to create part of the title, and I cut a film strip with my Silhouette to place behind.

The viewfinder disc is another Silhouette creation, but I imported a 'Mickey' image into the slides.  'Woodies' and some Disney flair finish that corner nicely.

The background has a little texture paste added using a stencil, and I layered a couple of chevron style arrows to co-ordinate.

Finally.....some Washi tape, and a little bling dotted on to the teeny starbursts.

That's about all but I did create a Sketch of this page, so if it's of any use, I'm posting here......

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow for Little Red Wagon,

Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Those Moves.

Well did you miss me?

Here I am for the second post of the day due to a slight mishap!  You can check out why in my first post here.

So today is Friday and it's team B's turn up over on the Scrapmuch? blog for Sketch-y Friday.

We had another awesome little Sketch to work with from Laura, and here's my effort:

Those Moves.

I dug into the old photo's again - this one's my hubby way back in the day!  It reminded me of a move from the TV show The Professionals (you might have to be British to know what the heck that is!) where the two tough guys from Scotland Yard or MI5 or something like that, are constantly sliding across the hood of the car to go catch the bad guys.

I have a feeling my DH was probably just catching some rays or trying to look good for the photo!

Anyhow, back to the relevant stuff........

Papers are oldies from Authentique and I started with the background - a little white acrylic paint, a stencil and then some fake tire tracks using ink and a patterned brayer from American Crafts.

There's also a few metal star studs dotted here and there.

My title is cut using my Silhouette and a font called 'Outright Televism'.  I also cut a circled star to place behind.....sort of continues the theme of the patterned papers.

Finally, I covered a chipboard arrow with some of the PP's and added a metal paper clip from Maya Road to compliment the staples punched here and there.

Here is the Sketch for this week which you can also find over on the Scrapmuch? blog.

We would love to see your own interpretation of course.....just link up over there to be in with a chance of winning a prize!

OK that's definitely 'it' from me for today, so have a great weekend and I'll be seeing you Monday,

Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #247 - Christmas in July

Good morning.

I just headed here to post my creation for Sketchy Friday over at Scrapmuch? and noticed that my post for Little Red Wagon did not go ahead as I had planned this week!

Duh!!

Note to self: make sure you click 'publish' once you've scheduled a post!!

Oh dear.......me late again......what can I say?

So anyways, you will have two posts from me today.

Let's start with a belated one for............

and this week, Jan would like you to get a head start on those Christmas preparations whilst you're enjoying some sunny temperatures, cause it's 'Christmas in July'!

I just couldn't quite bring myself to dig out the red, green and golds while the sun is shining so nicely, so I went with that lesser know Christmas colour combination...........orange, teal and brown!!

Do you think it'll catch on?!!  Lol.

I used an image from Prairie Fairy I found in my stash - coloured up with Copic's probably two years ago and just waiting patiently to make it to a Christmas card.

I used a little Glossy Accents on her specs and Liquid Applique for the fur trim.

You still have time to get a head start on your own Christmas creations, so why not join in the fun and link up over on the blog.

The Girlfriends have some fun inspiration waiting there for you too.

Have a great day but I'll be back shortly with today's second post!

Till then,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #246 - I Need A Vacation

There's a new challenge up over on the Little Red Wagon blog...........

and this week Tracy would like to see creations with a vacation or travel theme.

There are lots of possibilities with this one.......you could use modes of transportation, travel related items, vacation activities etc. etc.  How you run with this is entirely up to you, just ensure there's something travel/vacation related on there.

I had some left over scraps from a recent DT Kit (Ahoy There by Carta Bella) so I used the nautical theme in a more 'romantic' way.......don't worry, this will be heading to my DH at some point.

Why not dig into your stash and create your own travel kinda thing.......you know you're in need of vacation, and if you're anything like me, this is as close as you're getting right now!

Link up over on the blog and check out a little inspiration from the rest of the Girlfriends too.

Have a great day and I'll see you Friday,
Jayne.x.

Inspiration Elevator #25 - What's in Your Bag?

Hi there, it's Tuesday and just happens to be the 15th of the month soooooooooo...............

Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level;  to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking; to stretch, sometimes uncomfortably, to create something fresh.

You can see all of Inspiration Elevator's previous challenges at our blog and catch us on Facebook  too.
We are thrilled to welcome back as guest designer, the delightful Denise Morrison. Denise's artsy style conveys layers of artistic and emotional significance, and we love her artful scribbles!

We are also honoured to welcome a guest challenger this month, team alumni, creative and busy Sue Sykes, a regular contributor to Canadian Scrapbooker magazine and manager of their sketch site. Here is her challenge for us, in her own words:

We all know that the contents of our bags, whether it's a handbag, a satchel, a clutch or a backpack, reveals a lot about ourselves. This month, create a layout about the contents of your bag on any given day. Be sure to include the stories behind any unconventional items.
As a further challenge, use one of the items on your page somehow!

Hmmmm, they weren't joking when they said 'Challenge'!

Maybe I should have waited on clearing out my ever disgracefully messy purse until after I had attempted this one!  A couple of weeks ago I condensed it to down to four sad items, none of which were particularly scrapworthy.

So, on to Plan B (as always), I reverted back to my 'comfort' purse - translation: the messy one......knew I was bound to find something interesting in there.

Seriously.

Here's a close up of the journalling to explain all.

I used a variety of distress inks (spritzed with water on my craft mat) and stamps for the background.

Used my all time favourite Thicker's sentiments again for the title, added a little messy doodling then dotted a few wooden sequins and eyelets around.

And finally, in order to satisfy the bonus challenge ie. to use some of the contents on your page, I applied some gloss, puckered up and kissed the page.

It's a little tricky to catch in the photograph.

I had lot's of fun with this one, so here's to the next.

Here's a complete list of this month's participating designers!  We encourage you to check out each designer's creation this month, then come on back and give the challenge a try yourself!

Guest Challenger: Sue Sykes
Meantime, if you've wanted to participate as a guest designer with Inspiration Elevator, just contact team lead, Ann at ann jobes at bell dot net
Now it's your turn to get creating about what is in your bag, and share your blog link at the IE blog. We would love to see what you were inspired to make!

Sketch-y Friday with Scrapmuch? - This Happened

It's a beautiful day!  The sun is shining, we're off for a little outdoor swimming fun, and my post for Sketch-y Friday over at Scrapmuch? is ahem, a few hours late.........I blame the joys of summertime sleeping in!

I'm not complaining at all really!

Laura came up with a great sketch for us to work with this week, so I had much fun with this one.

It started with the photo's which always make me laugh.

This Happened.

Oh Charlie!

Nothing like a full on doggie diving photo bomb to liven things up.

As far as scrapping goes........do you ever have things in you stash which come along and you absolutely love the look of every page you use them on?  Hoard them maybe?  Go out and buy a second pack cause you just can't face the day when you won't be able to get a hold of them anymore?

Well my little obsession right now are these...........

Foam phrases from the Plus One collection by Amy Tangerine.......LOVE em!!

Instead of using a third photo on this page I cut a journal tag using my Cameo.......

I played around with the background as usual, this time with a 'paint splatter' stencil, Prima chalk inks and some wooden sequins.

And finally, I really like those fancy paperclips you can get......these are Maya Road I believe, but I never really know how to get them to stick firmly on a page.

I decided on a needle and thread for this one and happily, it seems to be staying put!

Feel free to join this or any of the fabulous Sketch Challenges over on the Scrapmuch? blog during the month.

Here is this weeks Sketch for you.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you next week,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #245 - Happy Anniversary (to Me!)

Good morning.

It's Wednesday, so of course it's time for another challenge over at............

It's my turn to host this week and as today happens to be my Wedding Anniversary (14 long years! Lol), the theme I chose is a 'no-brainer'.

I'd like to see some Wedding Anniversary creations.

For once I was ahead of the game and had already prepared a card for my DH, so my offering today will be given to my parents who will be celebrating their own special day next week.

The little vellum envelope I made proved to be a little tricky to photograph, in order to get a clear shot of the two glittered enamel hearts inside.

Feel free to join along with our challenge this week.....just link up over on the blog and don't forget to check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have been up to.

I'll be back again on Friday as it's Sketch Challenge time over at Scrapmuch?

Enjoy your day,
Jayne.x.

To Be Continued.....Part 2 (a Sketch!)

I think I must have had a little brain freeze during my last post, because I completely forgot to include the sketch of my layout on here!

Duh!!

Better late than never I guess........here's a sketch for you:

Drop me a comment if you manage to use it, purely because I'm a little nosey and would love to see your interpretation! Lol

Have a great day,
Jayne.x.

To Be Continued.........

Time for a layout I think!

This one is certainly well overdue........created for the Two Scrapbook Friends display at Scrapfest which was way back in April, but at last it's making an appearance on here.

This page is one of two Disney layouts I made using Queen & Co's collection of papers and embellies which are perfectly co-ordinated for all those 'House of Mouse' photo's.

We last visited Disney World approximately three years ago, and I think this is probably the third page I've scrapped using the hundreds of photo's I have!  Bad Momma!!

I'm never one for 'themed' pages but I did have fun with these.........I love the red/yellow/black combo for one thing and the other......happy memories of course from the happiest place on Earth!

Here goes the first page, which is technically the last, as it was the very last photo I took from this vacation......whilst waiting for the bus to take us to the airport and our journey home.

The whole page was inspired by the title.........a perfect phrase found in a collection of alpha's by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts).

To Be Continued.

I love this background paper as half the work is done for you.  I did add a little Glossy Accents to each of the yellow dots in the border, and a few sequins together with stars made from Molding Paste and a stencil.

There's also a fair few die cuts on here created using my Cameo, and of course I had to make use of the buttons and wood veneers Queen & Co have produced......the latter called 'Woody's' no less - makes me smile for more than one reason!

Finally, a little touch of Washi tape to finish things off......

That's all for now but I'll try to get the second page on here sooner rather than later!

Have a great weekend......I'm off to celebrate my Mom's Birthday today in style with a little housework!!  We know how to party in this house!

See you next week,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #244 - Summer

Hi there.

I hope you're enjoying your summer vacation so far.  I'm making the most of it while my parents are here for their annual visit.

Today's challenge over at........

is perfectly appropriate for this time of year, as Rosanne would like to see anything with a Summery theme.

My Mom's Birthday just happens to be occurring this week, so I went with a Summery Birthday card:

I kept things clean and simple, but played around with this one by painting some watercolours onto a mini 'sunburst' place card (Jillibean Soup), then added a stamped image.  The touches of black provide a nice contrast.

Why not absorb a little sunshine yourself and create your own 'Summer' themed project?  Just link up over on the blog and don't forget to check out a little inspiration from the rest of the Girlfriends while you're there.

I'm hoping to be back again this week as I still have a backlog of scrapbook layouts to post!

Enjoy the sunshine and have a great day,
Jayne.x.
