Little Red Wagon #222 - Childs Play

Time for another new challenge over at Little Red Wagon.........

Tracy is holding the reigns for the first time this week, and she'd like to see a card for a child......any occasion will do!

It's strange, but most of the cards I make are probably for kiddo's, especially those with coloured images as I always tend to go for the 'cutesy' ones.

Now however, when I'm given the task of making something specifically for a mini kinda person, I hummed and arrrd so to speak.....couldn't quite decide what I wanted to do till I finally just jumped in yesterday and went with the flow.

Here's the result.....

I think I like it.......I like the image at least!

All of the details are cut with my Silhouette - I'm still at that stage where any excuse to play will do!

The image is an oldie from Pollycraft (the store closed a while ago I believe)and colouring is courtesy of my Copics.

That's about it so why not head off to your crafting table and set to work on a cutesy creation of your own.  Link up over on the blog and be inspired by the other Girlfriends while you're there too.

Keep warm (extremely difficult when it's -30 out there I know!) and have a great day.

I'll see you Friday,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #209 - Halloween.

Hi there......still sticking to the plan here as it's Wednesday and I'm posting on time, yet again, for this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge!

Regan's turn to host this week, so of course it's that time of year when she had to choose the obvious........Halloween!

Let's see all your spooky creations.

Mine is really not spooky at all......far too cute to spook!

I dug out the pencils again for this one.  My youngest and I had a mini colouring session the other night - much fun.

Don't you just love it when a 7 year old sets to work with OCMS and blending sticks!  Very professional if it wasn't for the mass area of destruction that's usually left behind!  I can't say too much though as my desk usually bears a similar resemblance!

Digi is a hoarded creation from Pollycraft (that was!).

Now I'm sure you have at least one (or two, or three) Halloween creations just lying around, so head on over to the Little Red Wagon blog and link up.

The Girlfriends have more inspiration waiting there for you too.

Have a great day......don't overdo the candy on Thursday and I'll see you Friday for the final installment of this weeks plan.  I have to try and stick to it for one week at least!

See you soon,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #199 - Layers

Hi there.

Apologies for my late posting of this weeks Little Red Wagon Challenge.......

........I was on vacation till the beginning of the week, had problems with both FireFox and IE since we got home - neither wanted me to make an appearance here so I'm now attempting Google Chrome, then most of my time has been taken up by this little guy:

Our new bundle of fluff......Charlie.

I've been transported back to the crazy baby days of trying to fit in every possible task during 'nap' time, and although it seems to be his mission to Christen every rug in my house (you know what I mean!), I'll forgive him anything cause he's so darn cute!!

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of Charlie around here, but right now let's get back to the task at hand........this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge was issued by Joanne and she'd like to see at least 3 layers.

No problem!

I am now wondering how a card with 6 or 7 layers on there manages to look as though there's barely anything on it!

Oh well, mission complete.

Papers are 'Fabulous' from Simple Stories and digi is from Pollycraft, coloured with Copic's.  The layout was inspired by this weeks Deconstructed Sketch.

You still have a few more days to join in with this weeks challenge so why not?  Check out some inspiration from the rest of the girlfriends too.

Me, I'm off to do laundry as Charlie's fast asleep at my feet.

Hopefully I'll have a little more success in regards to posting on here next week, so I'll see you then.

Have a great weekend,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #196 - Christmas in July!

Hi there.

I'm running a little behind with today's post (as is the norm!)......should have appeared yesterday, but things were a little busy and time got the better of me.

The usual joys of cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, looking at more fluffy bundles of fur (the puppy variety) and generally entertaining the kiddo's..........entertaining resulted in the form of "Let's detox and vacuum the couch and clean every other surface in the family room!".

Much fun had by all!!

Anyhow, yesterday over at Little Red Wagon......

........our hostess, Rosanne wanted to see a little Christmas spirit.......just about snook that one in on the last day of July for a "Christmas in July" challenge.

I'd coloured a Christmas image quite a while ago - probably one of those from last Christmas that never actually made it to a card, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to dig it out and be ahead of the game for this years celebrations.

Winter Joy.

Changed things up a little and went with a simple Easel card.

Haven't made one of these in a looooong time!

The digi is from Pollycraft and coloured with Copic's.

Papers are from Authentique.

Hopefully you might get a chance to join along with this weeks challenge over on the blog.

Also check out what the rest of the girlfriends came up with, if you need a little festive inspiration!

Have a great day.

I'm off to get things rolling with the "Let's see who can clean a bathroom the fastest" game.

The joys of summer vacation!

Take care and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Good morning.....here I am bright and early for a change!

Sheesh did we get a nice little storm yesterday, and a power outage to match.  You can guarantee these things always seem to happen around dinnertime!  Yesterday's 4pm till 9.15pm was no exception so by 7.30pm we were dining on sandwiches for dinner.......couldn't even brave the thunder/lightning and winds to crank up the BBQ.

Anyhow, hopefully it has cleared the humidity a little.

The reason I'm here on this bright, early Saturday morning (well actually I'm still probably lying in bed........you know very well I scheduled this post!) is to wish my dear Dad a very Happy Birthday........the BIG 70!

Couldn't let the occasion pass by without some recognition, and of course a card posted on here, so here goes:

Another 'Maurice' image from Pollycraft - I can't resist him when it comes to male cards!

Papers are from Pebbles Inc. and colouring is of course with Copic's.

That's about it for today - short and sweet.

Happy Birthday Dad........have a fabulous, relaxing (toothache free!!) day.......love ya!

See you all soon,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #189 Use 3 or more Patterned Papers

Well hello.

I apologize for being a terrible Blogger this last week or so........a combination of work, dance recitals, car repairs, dental appointments, doctors appointments, more car repairs......you get the general idea I'm sure!

Anyhow, hopefully things will settle down a little from now on and I can actually catch up on some crafting.

Today over at the Little Red Wagon.......

it's Rosanne's turn to host a challenge, and she'd like us to use 3 or more patterned papers on our creation.

Now unless you're living in a cave, you'll be well aware that it's Father's Day this weekend, so I thought I'd better get my butt in gear and create for the men in my life........two of them at least.

These two will be going to my Dad and FIL, so of course I had to dig out 'Maurice' from Pollycraft.....again!!

I can't help it, I love this guy.......something about him just makes me want to jiggle his tummy and rub his head!

Anyhow, enough of that......here goes:

So I guess if we're going to get really technical here I may have stretched the rules just a little, as the main base of my card only has one patterned paper.  However, we can all see there are two more PP's used in the paper piecing of his shorts and vest.......

Mission accomplished!

What can I say......I'm sneaky and looking for an easier life right now!

Check out how the rest of the girlfriends have creatively arranged their 3 or more patterned papers, and maybe you'll get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge too.

I'll see you later this week.....promise!
Take care,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #187.....Put A Cork In It!

Hello.

Tammy is hosting over on the Little Red Wagon blog this week and she'd like us to 'Put A Cork In It'!

In a polite fashion of course..........anything of the cork variety on your creation.

I haven't put a coloured image on a card for a while, so I dug into my stash and pulled out one I'd coloured a while ago - just hadn't made it to a card, so here goes:

I also found a sheet of cork I've had in my stash forever, so I hand cut myself a little spatula and mixing bowl.

Digi is from Pollycraft and coloured with Copic's.

Papers are MME and the layout was inspired by Jens sketch from last week, over at The Deconstructed Sketch.

Short and sweet today, so why not head over to Little Red Wagon and check out the creations from the rest of the Girlfriends.

Have another great day and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.

Hoppy Easter!

Hi there

Here I am, happily hosting my first challenge for Little Red Wagon.

With the holiday weekend fast approaching, I thought I'd choose the obvious for my challenge.

Whether it's eggs, cute n' cuddly bunnies, or something with a more religious meaning, I'd like to see your Easter creations.

My card is of the cute and cuddly variety as it will be given to my daughter.

I love this sweet little image from Pollycraft.....love her 'bunny bonnet'!

She's coloured up with Copics and a little Glossy Accents are added to her specs.

Papers are We R Memory Keepers - last years I believe, and the 'felt' egg was from the bargain big at Michael's.

I'll hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week, but don't forget to check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have created for some cool inspiration!

See you Friday......I hope!
Take care,
Jayne.x.

A Girls Best Friend

Boy I've had a busy couple of weeks.

My brother, sister-in-law and their two kiddo's have been staying with us during this time so we've had a crazy, fun, chaotically happy kinda time, which is unfortunately coming to an end pretty soon.

The only good side to this is that my blog might get some tlc (in that I might actually visit more often), and all of our kids may get to sleep at a reasonable hour!

Anyhow, thought I'd post a card on here whilst I have a little time.  This was one I made for my youngest dd's birthday a while back, using another sweet Pollycraft image.

This little lady and her best friend are coloured with Copic's and papers are some of my old favourites from My Minds Eye.

I can't tell you how much I've had my monies worth from these paper tea roses and felt birds from the $1.50 bin at Michael's.....saved the day more than once!

The layout for this card was inspired by an older sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

That's it for today, but I will be back sometime this week I hope.
Have a good one,
Jayne.x.

A 'Manly' Birthday.

Good morning.

Time for another card today and this time it's the 'manly' variety!

I don't colour too many male images because they're usually not cute.....obviously (!), and you may have guessed by now, I like cute.  However, one image I quite often colour up, because he is cute in that 'want to rub his bald head' kinda way is 'Maurice' from Pollycraft.

The male members of my family are probably getting a complex by now, wondering why they're quite often sent cards of a man sporting very little hair and a well rounded tum.  No offence to my Dad (although if the cap fits.........), this latest version was given to him for his Birthday.

I did try to soften the blow a little via the sentiment, printed from Word.

Maurice is coloured with Copic's and papers are from a My Minds Eye 'Six by Six' pad.

That's all for today, but I'll be back in a day or two, with scrapbook pages I think.

Till then, have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello there.

I don't usually visit here on a Sunday, but I'd thought I'd hop on with a Father's Day card that was made for my Husband at 11.30pm last night (nothing like being prepared!).

Short and sweet today also, as I'm off to work.......what better day to give my dearest the opportunity to carry out his Fatherly duties.........if he's lucky, he may even get to cook dinner too!

Here's the card...........

'I love you more than ice-cream'........that's saying something!

Colouring is with Prisma pencils and mineral spirits today, and papers are from a bargain My Minds Eye "Six By Six" (Blink Of An Eye) pad.  The digi is from Pollycraft and I was really sad to find Paula is closing her store......I've always loved her images so it's a good job I've got plenty to keep me going.  Be warned, you'll be seeing lots more around here!

You can actually see the Glossy Accents on there too - makes a change.

There's plenty of layered zig-zags and distressing ink on here, and I tried, but couldn't resist a button.

Forgot to mention that the sentiment is also included with this digi set.....makes me like it even more!

Have a great day and I'll see you next week,
Jayne.x.

Happy Easter!

Happy Saturday to ya! The sky's blue, the sun is shining and I am in a good mood.

I thought I'd hop on here today, to wish you all a very happy Easter with family, friends and wherever you may be.
With our round of sickness recently, I realised I hadn't even made, yet alone posted a single Easter card.......needless to say my family will be receiving the digital 'Smilebox' variety.....shameful I know coming from a card maker, but that's how it has to be this year!

Anyhow, I did manage to grab a little time in my craft room yesterday, in between the chocolate nest making and egg decorating, to create one little Easter card for my girls, so that's what I'm sharing today.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found this particular sentiment tag still sitting in my stash from recent projects....couldn't have picked anything better to pair with the digi I'd coloured.

So for any 'doubter's' out there........'Believe in the Bunny'...........

Lot's of pretty pastels on here, just what two girlie girls like.  The digi is another I'm loving right now from Pollycraft - so cute that I think I have another 75 of therm waiting to be coloured. It's coloured with a combination of Copic's and Promarker's.

Papers are from the We R Memory Keepers 'Cottontail' collection, as is the tag.

A few pretty buttons and some of my fave seam binding ribbon, finish the job.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend, and I think I'll be seeing you on Monday.
Take care

At your age!

Hi there, it's Wednesday so we've already made it through half the week!

Just a quick visit from me today....things to do, places to go etc. I have a quirky little card for you, and this one will eventually be making it's way to my brother. Not until April though.....am I on the ball or what?

Anyhow, here goes......it's Maurice from Pollycraft again............

I think I luuuurve Maurice! He's so darn cute.

He is of course coloured with Copic's with a touch of Glossy Accents added to his spec's.............

Papers are from a Cosmo Cricket 6"x6" pad I've had forever, the sentiment is printed using Word and the layout was inspired by the current sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

As mentioned, it's headed to my brother, so I'll show you the inside of the card........just a sampling of sibling banter..........brotherly/sisterly love and all that!

That's all from me, but I will be back on Friday as there will be a fun 'On-line Crop' starting over at the Two Scrapbook Friends forum . I have my challenge prepped and ready to go with a cute little scrapbook page too.

See you then

Be Mine.......

Hi there, here I am on a snowy Sunday!

If you're looking for the Two Scrapbook Friends Valentine Blog Hop then please scroll down to the next post.....or if that's a little too much trouble (I know, it's Sunday!) then click here.

So on with today's creation. I realised the other day that I haven't posted a single Valentine on here, the main reason for this being that....well....I hadn't made any! (hanging head in shame). So the rush began on Thursday to come up with something for my darling husband, darling children, and the 50 other kids in their relevant classes! Nothing like last minute to spur the creative juices.

Anyhow the point of my rambling is that I will be posting a few Valentine's on here, from now till the big day.

For today, here's the first for my youngest............

Don't you just love sweet little mice holding love heart candies? lol

But really, she is pretty sweet. This was one of the digi's included in the Mega Bundle I picked up from Pollycraft.....lot's of cutie's in there. I'm not entirely sure if 'he' is a 'she'.......it's either Mimi or Marley....can't remember, but for today's purposes, 'he's' a 'she'........get it?

She's coloured with Copic's..........

and papers are from the We R Memory Keepers 'Love Struck' line. I added some of my new yummy seam binding ribbon (which I scrunched a little) from my scrappy friend Dee.....thanks Dee, and of course a button............

There's a teeny bit of bling added at the bottom to finish things off..........

The layout for today's card was inspired by a sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

Well that's it from me, but don't forget to come back tomorrow for the continuation of my mini 'lovefest'!

Have a great day

Socks for Christmas!!!!

Well look at me here on a Sunday! It's not that I have nothing else to do....believe me I have plenty! It's more a case of our house having a good dose of the sickies. It was either 'stay in bed and cough myself silly' or 'get up and do something useful'. So the laundry is sitting there waiting for me and I'm 'blogging'! Seems useful to me.

I do have a card for you today, but just a little reminder first, that the TSF 12 Days Of Christmas Creations Blog Hop started yesterday, and we've already had some wonderful creations from both Joanne and Audrey. Be sure to join us, if you get a chance, for a little inspiration and of course, the chance of winning a prize.

Now, onto today's card, which follows the general theme of the month...........Christmas!! This one is for all the men out there, who probably don't have these on their list, but get them anyway. Maybe it has something to do with which one of 'Santa's List's' you're on.....think about it.....................

I love these images from Pollycraft called Maurice, and they always seem to end up given to my husband........maybe he'll get socks this year too!

Maurice is coloured with Copic's and papers are from last years Bo Bunny Christmas line. There's a little glitter added to the gift box, liquid applique to his hat, and Glossy Accents to his specs.

The acetate snowflake with a nice little bit of bling, finishes things off nicely............

That's it from me, I'm off for another hot drink to try and restore a little of my voice!

Have a great day and I'll be back soon
