You Can Always Find A Friend In A Good Book

Time for a little more action on here I think, so today I thought I'd finish off my creations from a recent DT Kit from Two Scrapbook Friends......the 'Enchanted' collection from Simple Stories.

This is a lovely feminine line full of pastels, but with a wonderful mix of modern geometric patterns, and a touch of Kraft in there too.

Can't go wrong really and with a house of girlies I knew I could put it to good use!

The only thing I seem to be struggling with recently is a lack of photo's.....for a scrapbooker my penchant for taking photographs is pretty hopeless really!

Note to self: take more photo's (or at least remember to bring your camera).

So, I lucked out when I found this little gem - no idea who took it, certainly not me so probably my youngest who unlike her Mother, is definitely 'snap' happy!

Anyone that knows my eldest daughter is well aware that this is the position she can usually be found in.........with her nose in a book!

You Can Always Find A Friend In A Good Book

The background paper starts this one off for me.  I decided to add a little colour to the 'postcard' stamp with watercolour paints.

The large chevrons were fussy cut from another sheet of patterned paper, the vines were courtesy of my Silhouette, and I used a combination of mini alpha's and more Silhouette cuts for the long long title.

There are some cute die cut paper clips found in this collection, so I layered a couple of different ones in a cluster of embellies here......

and finished things off with a scattering of enamel dots.

Just about covers everything I think.

You can find 'Enchanted' over at Two Scrapbook Friends either in person or at their online store.

Have a wonderful day.....enjoy the sunshine and hopefully I'll be back here again later this week.

Take care,

Sketchy Friday at Scrapmuch? - I Am So Very Blessed

Hi there.

Another Friday has rolled around which means it's time for another Sketchy Friday reveal over at Scrapmuch?

'I AM' liking my page this week for a couple of reasons........firstly due to the fact that I had to put it together pretty quickly, but surprisingly 'I AM' super pleased with it!

Secondly I've been dying to use the new paper collection I picked up from the Scrapmuch? ladies a few weeks ago.......I AM by Simple Stories (just in case you hadn't picked up on my subtle clues there!).

So here goes:

I Am So Very Blessed

Here's this weeks sketch provided for your inspiration.....another beauty if I say so myself.

I pretty much stuck to the general scheme of things, just a little tweaking with my photo arrangement because I really wanted to use a variety of these super cool, old school frames.

I tore into a sheet of paper for the angled background piece, and intended to use pink until I tried the green and loved the subtle tone on tone.

A little of my signature 'faux stitching (you can check out the tutorial here) plus I also got to make use of plenty of  the die cuts found in this collection, by layering them up here and there.

Feel free to hop on over to the Scrapmuch? blog where you'll find lots more inspiration provided by Team B this week. You also still have time to enter your own interpretation of this or any of the four sketches provided this month........just link up over on the blog to be in with a chance of winning.

That's it from me but I'm off for a whole day of scrapping on Saturday so fingers crossed that the mojo co-operates!

Have a great weekend,
Jayne.x.

Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Oh Happy Day

Good morning!

Yes I am still alive and kicking after a couple of weeks absence on here.

My post today was one that was originally scheduled for Sketch-y Friday over at Scrapmuch? on 10 April, but I've had a crazy couple of weeks.....as seems the norm these days.

My hubby was in Europe for two weeks over the Easter hols, so of course I got sick while he was away......this seems to be the norm too!

A head cold/flu kinda thing kept me down and out between work shifts and Easter Bunny duties, so I hadn't been back to my blog since last Thursday to check if my scheduled post did actually publish.

Obviously it didn't, so I'm back today with the revised version!

Laura gave us another fabulous sketch to work with (incidentally, there was another posted Friday so you still have lots of inspiration and time to get your entries in before the end of the month) so here's my interpretation:

Oh Happy Day

This page records some happy memories recently, when my girls finally got to go see some of the characters from their favourite TV show - The Next Step, live on stage.

I was also lucky enough to be gifted with the perfect DT Kit from Two Scrapbook Friends this month........the 'Enchanted' collection by Simple Stories..........works perfectly for this theme!

The background paper has a nice scattering of stars, so I added a few enamel dots (which are part of the collection) and some hand drawn/glittered circles.

I also wanted to include our tickets, so I used an acetate photo overlay stapled in place to form a pocket, and a decorative paper clip to hold them in place.

Lots of paper layers, Washi tape, sequin stars and some faux brads using an Epiphany punch and epoxy overlays.

And finally, the title was cut using my Silhouette and......wait for it.......the foil lid from a Chinese take out!

Clean I might add.

I happened to find a spare in a recent order and the resourceful scrapbooker that I am.........etc. etc.

Well that's about all from me but I guess I should post Laura's Sketch before I leave........

Told ya it was a good one.

Feel free to jump in with one or all of the Sketch-y Friday challenges this month - you have four to choose from, then link up over on the Scrapmuch? blog to be in with a chance of winning some goodies.

Both Teams A and B have a whole bundle of inspiration waiting for you there too.

Have a great weekend and I'll be back next week trying to catch up on a few posts here and there.
Take care,
Jayne.x.
