Home Sweet Home.............

Good morning all. Hope you're having a good one. Today is Sunday I believe, which means therefore, it's time for a new OSAAT challenge. For our theme this week, we're feeling pretty generous, so you have a choice............'Good Luck' or a photo inspiration............

.............the choice is yours! We also have another great sponsor for you this week...............
Make It Crafty

........so, no excuses, you have to be in it to win it!

This week, I got to colour up another awesome image from one of our talented creators, who you can find over at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store........Hope Jacare Doodles.............here is 'Home Is Where The Heart Is'.....................

So, I hope you can tell I opted for the second option of.......'Good Luck' and for this one, it's Copic's all the way Baby!

No Prisma pencils in sight. I find that when images are pretty small and detailed like this one, I often revert to the Copic's...........otherwise, too many fiddly bits, to get in there and blend with pencils.

I kept things fairly simple here as I think the image deals enough interest. DP is again from Cosmo Crickets 'Circa 1934' line,(love this!) together with chocolate brown card stock/Martha Stewart border punch combo. Ribbon is from 'Michaels' $1.50 bin, again tied with my new 'Bow Easy' (love this too!). The key is Maya Road chipboard which I covered with chocolate brown glitter, and the tiny tag...... I made, and printed the sentiment from my PC using the 'Batik Regular' font, which I didn't realise I had (and have been searching for!!!!!).

That's about it for the outside, so I'll show you a quick view of the inside, just to make sure we're clear what the 'Luck' is for..........

There we have it.

I hope you can join in with the challenge this week. Hop on over to the OSAAT Challenge Blog, and check out what the rest of the DT have been up to.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I hope to see you sometime during the week.

I'll be back a little later with some challenge hopefuls..........till then.........

A Double Blog Hop!..........

Hi everyone.

Today I have a very special surprise for you! A DOUBLE BLOG HOP!!! That’s right, Baby Bud Designs and By LORi Designs have teamed up to bring you a big ol' blog hop! We’ve got a fantastic line up of extremely talented designers, showcasing some pretty adorable images.

You’ll find a ton of inspiration, and of course a hop isn’t a hop without some prizes right? So be sure to leave comments on every stop!

Sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful creations that both of these wonderful Design Teams have created for you! You won’t be disappointed! If you get lost along the way the whole list will be posted at each of the Main blogs.

For my part in today's activities, I got to play with yet another new image from ByLori Designs called 'Happy Birthday Annie'. Here she is, all ready for the party..............

Now, I hope you can tell I put in a little effort here.....there were quite a few fiddly bits let me tell ya! I'll get through the 'deets' pretty quickly, so that you can be on your way.

Annie is coloured predominantly with Prisma pencils and Copics for her skin. I paper pieced and popped the balloon and 'glittered' cake (NB. 1st fiddly bit!), and added my new bakers twine for the string (NB. 2nd fiddly bit!). Here's a close up...........

Paper is from Pine Cone Press and the 'Bingo' card is Jenni Bowlin. I made the banner using a heart shaped Martha Stewart punch, more bakers twine, added alpha stickers from my stash, and 'popped' (NB. 3rd fiddly bit!). Ribbon is from Michaels and tied in that lovely bow, using my new 'Bow Easy', and around the candle (NB.4th fiddly bit!). Oh, and lastly, although it's no doubt obvious, I paper pierced around the image, and glued onto my new lacy 'Nestie' (NB. not quite so fiddly!) OMG, only 4 'fiddly bits'.......it felt like more, believe me. Maybe I just need smaller fingers!

Wow......all this 'newness'...........can you tell it was my Birthday last week? I like this card......even my eldest DD said"Wow Mom, this will have to go to someone really special!" which is basically her 'royal seal of approval', so there ya go........mustn't be bad!

OK, so that's about it from me, although I'll probably be back a little later with some challenge hopefuls. I'll send you off for now, to the lovely Margie's blog, to go have fun in 'Blogland, and here's that magic list of awesome inspiration I promised you.........if you're joining us 'midway', head on back to the By Lori Designs blog:

New challenge at One Stitch At A Time.........

Sorry I'm a little late with my post this morning........Blogger obviously did noy want to cooperate with my 'scheduled' post, so.....second time lucky!
Anyhow........Happy Sunday everyone, hope you're having a good one. It's challenge day over at OSAAT, and I have a couple of creations for you today. Our sponsor this week is.............

Yep........Kenny K is offering a few digi's to some lucky challenge winners, and the theme this week is everyone's favourite..........Anything Goes (using a digi).

So, I think my projects this week, couldn't be any more different from each other. First up, a card using an image from our sponsor.........Mr Kenny K.............

...........one foxy lady! She was coloured with Copic markers, and when I saw those pants (or chaps I guess) I knew they had to be PVC! So, out came the Glossy Accents. Paper is from We R Memory Makers, I hand cut the stars and added brads, and also added rhinestones to the chipboard letters, which were from my stash. Not sure if you can see them too well in the photo, but there are silver stud brads, also added on each corner of the card.

That's about it for the first one, so next up...............one sweet little girl.............

Now she's a cutie, yes? This week, I got to colour up an image by Kelley Kid's called 'January Jan', which you can find at the Stitchy Bear Store. I decided to do something other than a card, so I altered a book. Jan is coloured using Prisma pencils with a touch of Copic's for skin area's, and papers are from a Bo Bunny Christmas line. I added the ice skates as a bookmark, as these are also included with the digi. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the binding on the spine and that's about it.

I hope you get a chance to check out what the rest of the OSAAT DT have come up with this week, and maybe join in with the challenge.

I'll be back later, as usual with some challenge entries, so enjoy the rest of your day.

Love is.............

Hello again, another Sunday has rolled around, which means it's time for a new challenge over at the One Stitch At A Time Challenge Blog. Our sponsor this week, who is offering a gift voucher to their on-line store is........

The theme of this weeks challenge is 'New Beginnings', that could be New Home, New Baby, New Love/Engagement/Wedding, or even just using your vast amount of 'New Stash'......you get the picture?

So, onto my DT project for this week, here's at least one guy who is gearing up for Valentines' Day..........'Lil' Cupid'.............

Fairly vintage this week. I worked with an image from Floppy Latte Designs called, as previously mentioned, Lil' Cupid, and you can find him over at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store. He was coloured, as per usual with a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers, and there is quite a scattering of ultra fine glitter on there too. The sentiment is another digi I picked up a while ago through the Free Digital Stamps blog, and was created by Raindrop Echo Designs. I'm not sure which song John Lennon included these words in, but I thought how lovely they were, and would fit perfectly with what I was intending here.

I should have maybe mentioned, that the 'New Beginning' I had in mind was probably an Engagement. The papers I've used are from Basic Grey's Cappella line, together with plenty of ink and distressing. I had this idea of Cupid delivering an ancient message of love, so that's where the 'scroll' idea comes in. I added various bits of bling, ribbon and flowers and used foam dots in places, to get the dimension I wanted.

I'm not too pleased with the photo I've used here, as the light picked up the transparent bling swirl sticker, which in real life is pretty sheer. Oh well, it was too late to take another, so you'll just have to take my word for how good it looks really! (lol)

Well, that's it from me, so go visit the OSAAT blog and check out the other DT creations. I'll be entering this into a few challenges I'm sure, so I'll be back later with the deets.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Blog Hop!

Hello again. There's some fun stuff going on today, and I bet you can't guess what it is?...........A Blog Hop no less! Maybe the title gave it away. Yep, ByLoriDesigns, home of the sugary sweet Lollipop's and Sugar Sticks etc. are celebrating ........well....... anything you feel like celebrating, but the important thing is...........there are prizes involved! WoooooHooooo!!!

Here's the brief - you need to start over at the Lollipop Shop , where you will find the running order for the lovely ladies of the Design Team. Leave a comment there, and on each DT members blog to be in with a chance of winning one of these...........

..........a $10 gift certificate to spend at the Lollipop Shop, and there are 2 up for grabs! Not bad eh?

Now, if you have arrived here from the lovely Andrea's blog, then you are on the right track, so leave a comment (preferably a nice one!) and head on over to the lovely Hannah's blog. If you've happened here by chance, thanks for stopping by.....visitor's are always welcome, but if you'd like to join in the blog hop, skip over to the Lollipop Shop and start 'hopping'.

Before you leave though, maybe I should show you a card huh? I'm guessing that's what you're here for (unless the $10 is more appealing!). Today, I got to play with a new digi created by the talented Hannah Boyd (who you will be visiting next I hope!), from her new line of digi stamps........Bug and Roo, which you can also find at the Lollipop Shop. Here's 'Sunny'...............

Yes, there is obviously a whole bunch of talent in the 'Boyd' family!

So, I'll quickly run through the deets and you can be on your way. Sunny has been coloured with a combination of Copic markers and Prisma pencils. Papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love series and everything has been inked with 2 shades of Tim Holtz distressing ink. I used an EK Success border punch and threaded ribbon through, and used a fine line marker to create faux stitching and doodling in various places on the card. The sentiment is actually a digi created by Lori Boyd, which I printed on to Kraft cardstock, and raised in places with foam dots to create the dimension.

One last thing, I had no intention of using a sketch for this card as I pretty much knew I wanted a large, 'sunlike' circle behind the image. However, whilst I was cruising blogland for challenges the other day, I happened across a perfect sketch on Karen Giron's blog, for her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, so of course, it was meant to be!

Well, that's it from me for now. I'll leave you with the complete running order for the blog hop, just in case you get a little disorientated (or should I say distracted!) out there in blogland.

Look......a BOY'ish' card!!!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone. I'm quite proud of myself today, as I have a card to show you which doesn't have one single scrap of pink, lilac or red and no girlie images. I know this doesn't sound that astounding, but it wasn't until recently that I realised most of my cards turn out......well.......a little 'girlie'. I don't take blame for this, as living in a home with a 75% female population..........this is bound to happen. Besides, you have to admit - 'girlie' things are much cuter! (Have I started something there?)
Anyhow, with all that said, I am loving today's card, mainly because I think the image is seriously cute (and could be used for boy or girl!) and I love this line of paper. So let's get down to business...........here's a very generous (or very lucky) mouse............

So, I'll tell you another thing I like about this card..........the image was FREE ! Can't get much better than that. I don't know about you, but I find most of my 'freebie' digi's through Free Digital Stamps, (you can also find their link and latest post in the right sidebar of my blog) which is an awesome site that does all the hard work for you ie. hunt down digi's. Today's digi is no exception, as I got it through them, from a site called Torico's Digital Gallery.

Onto the rest of the details. I coloured predominently with Copic's, but used Prisma pencils for the mouse fur. I used a Nestie to cut around the image, leaving the gifts poking through the top, and sponged chalk ink around the edge. Papers are from Basic Grey's Marjolaine series (love em!) and the ribbon is from Autumn Leaves. The buttons and natural Hemp tied through them, were $$ store finds, and I stamped the sentiment using one of those stamps you find in the $1.50 bin at Michael's......'G Studio' I think. Lastly, I stapled in various places......just had to get those in there as another 'manly' element! lol

So, there we are. This little fella will be heading into a few challenges I'm sure, so I'll be back with those shortly.

I will be here again tomorrow, as there are more exciting things happening over at the Lollipop Shop. Be sure to check back around midday to find out what's going on - Clue......there are prizes involved!

Have a great day......I hear there is snow heading into these parts later, so keep warm.....keep safe.

Be Mine............

Good morning everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. This Sunday (ie. today) marks the return of challenges over at the OSAAT Challenge Blog. Which basically means, for me at least, I will finally get my lazy blogging behind back into gear..........on a Sunday at least!

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is............

So, Christmas is over which means the theme this week, in preparation for that one love filled day in February, is of course............Valentine, or love in general. Maybe you're like me and everyday is filled with romance, chocolates, birds singing in the trees..............yeah, we can dream right! Reality kicked in pretty swiftly then, when I glanced across to the kitchen where the pile of dishes sit in the sink, awaiting my love and attention!

I have, however, poured a whole load of my affection into this weeks DT creation, so here goes...............

Pretty sweet if I say so myself, and I think I will actually save this for my Hubby, as the ribbon has "Be Mine" splashed repeatedly across there..............may rock the boat a little if I hand it to someone else don't ya think?
So, I made a little extra effort this week (being the first challenge of the New Year and all) and made a card and matching 'favour' box. First up, here's a closer look at the card, and then we'll get into the details................

This cute little image from Kelley' Kids, which you can find in the Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps Store, could be yours for free, as it's part of the January collaboration pack, free with any purchase of $10 or more.

I coloured her with a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers, then fussy cut around the image, before mounting onto a die cut from a Nestie. The flower was a dollar store find, along with the folded doilies it's attached to. Ribbon is Martha Stewart, and the crochet trim and heart button are from one of my favourite local scrapbook stores....Two Scrapbook Friends. DP's are from the new BoBunny line I picked up last week and cardstock from Bazzil. Think that's everything, other than the fact that I glittered her wings, and most of the hearts are finished with Glossy Accents.

Onto the favour box..........

..............No, I didn't make this solely using my own brain power! I used a template for the box, which I downloaded for free quite some time ago, from Cuddly Buddly Crafts. I used the same image as on the card of course, just enlarged, cropped and printed it in a frame using Word, then cut using my Nestie. Ultrafine glitter and Glossy Accents make an appearance again, along with the same Martha Stewart ribbon. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch on the center band.

I think that's all folks! Hope you like em. If you'd like to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with this week, hop on over to OSAAT and take a look.

I'll be back later with some challenge entries.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

New Year......New Challenge.......and a great big 'Hi'!

Hello......I'm back! Today's an exciting day.........the first ever by Lori Designs 'Challenge'! To kick things off, we're starting with a colour challenge so here are our first contenders.......... Now, I'm not all that technical when it comes to colour terms.......the closest I get to being anywhere near name specific is when I'm forced to picked a new 'wall' colour from Benjamin Moore paint swatches! So, that said, the colour challenge this week, in my terms (and no offense to the Stamping Up fraternity out there!) is dark pink, light pink, turquoise blue and an olive green. If you have all these in your challenge entry, you're on the right track.

Here's my effort..........

Now, I know I've used a fair bit of white on here ie. the background, but I had an idea of what I wanted to do, and every time I put a PP behind there, the images got a little lost. I made sure I included all the colours in the images and embellies instead.

These two cuties are of course Lori Boyd creations, which you can find over at the Lollipop Shop ......... 'Lollipop Abby' and 'Sugar Stick Dog'. I paper pieced Abby's outfit and coloured the rest of her, and the dog with Copic markers. Oh, almost forgot, I did use a little Prisma pencil on her cheeks. The banner/bunting is hand cut from scraps, which I embossed using a Cuttlebug folder, then added chipboard letters. I used a little olive green embroidery floss as the 'rope', and the sunshine cloud is actually the top of a Maya Road chipboard tree, which I covered again with a Cuttlebug embossed scrap and inked. I stitched around the edge of the card using two different coloured threads and............Voila.......done!

I hope you get a chance to join in this weeks challenge, so hop on over to the Lollipop Shop and take a look at the other DT creations, for some awesome inspiration.

I'll be back here later with some challenge entries, so till then........have a great day!
