Bee You...........and a Sketch!

Good morning, here I am all bright and early for a change.  I might go as far as to say 'perky', but no........I'm never 'perky'!

I do however have another creation to post today, a layout no less, and as I'm killing two birds with one stone, I have a sketch for you too.

Yesterday over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, it was my turn to host this weeks Sketchy Challenge.  I decided to use a recent layout as inspiration for the sketch, which leads me nicely into starting the reveal for my latest DT kit from Two Scrapbook Friends.

I was given the opportunity to use the 'Bumble' collection from Adorn It.......a company I've never used before, but which you can of course find over at the Two Scrapbook Friend store.

So let's start with the sketch shall we.........a nice simple one with plenty of scope to choose your own shapes/embellies.

Next comes a layout, and you might guess that with a collection named 'Bumble' there may be a few 'bees' involved!  Throw in a few hexagons to replace the circles on my sketch and you have yourself a very nice 'bee' themed layout that has..........well absolutely nothing to do with bees really!

That suits me just fine as I'm not exactly a fan of the real life buzzing variety anyhow.

Here goes........'Bee You'.

This collection from Adorn It really does have everything you need to complete a page, including these awesome wooden veneer embellishments, which again you can find over at the Two Scrapbook Friends store. We all know how much I like a little wood!

The subtitle 'Sweet as Honey' is from a sheet of die cuts also available in this collection.

The hexagon shapes are either cut from various sheets of the patterned paper, stitched, or even a few more of the wooden veneers.

In case you're interested, I created the photostrip using my 'Pocketbooth' APP, available for both iPhone and Android......check it out, it's loads of fun.

Finally on this page, I highlighted the last photograph with a little twine just for effect.

That's it for my first layout from this collection, but I'll be back soon to showcase more 'Bumble' goodies.

In the mean time, feel free to get creating with this weeks sketch.

Have fun and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #190 Cardstock Capers!

Hi there, it's me.......bad blogger!

No excuses, had to make an appearance here today as it's Wednesday and my turn to host this weeks challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

Following on from Rosanne's challenge last week to use 3 or more patterned papers, I decided that this weeks task was obvious..........use only cardstock - no patterned paper in there at all!

Simple.........until I actually came to complete the challenge myself!

Fortunately I was saved by a sheet of stickers and an embossing folder, both of which have been hiding in my stash for quite some time!

Here goes:

Gotta love stickers and quick cards!

I did ink the embossing folder to create a little more depth/variation, and to help convince myself I did at least create something crafty.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to play along with us this week, just link up your creation over on the blog.

If you're looking for inspiration, don't forget to check out what the rest of the Girlfriends came up with.

Have fun and I'll see you tomorrow......yes tomorrow!

Little Red Wagon #189 Use 3 or more Patterned Papers

Well hello.

I apologize for being a terrible Blogger this last week or so........a combination of work, dance recitals, car repairs, dental appointments, doctors appointments, more car repairs......you get the general idea I'm sure!

Anyhow, hopefully things will settle down a little from now on and I can actually catch up on some crafting.

Today over at the Little Red Wagon.......

it's Rosanne's turn to host a challenge, and she'd like us to use 3 or more patterned papers on our creation.

Now unless you're living in a cave, you'll be well aware that it's Father's Day this weekend, so I thought I'd better get my butt in gear and create for the men in my life........two of them at least.

These two will be going to my Dad and FIL, so of course I had to dig out 'Maurice' from Pollycraft.....again!!

I can't help it, I love this guy.......something about him just makes me want to jiggle his tummy and rub his head!

Anyhow, enough of that......here goes:

So I guess if we're going to get really technical here I may have stretched the rules just a little, as the main base of my card only has one patterned paper.  However, we can all see there are two more PP's used in the paper piecing of his shorts and vest.......

Mission accomplished!

What can I say......I'm sneaky and looking for an easier life right now!

Check out how the rest of the girlfriends have creatively arranged their 3 or more patterned papers, and maybe you'll get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge too.

I'll see you later this week.....promise!
Take care,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #188.......Heavy Metal!

Hi there.

Regan's turn to host this week over at Little Red Wagon........

and as the title suggests, she'd like us to use a little metal.

So, although every card I seem to create these days is a last minute job (this 11pm one no exception!), I am now ahead of the game and have my anniversary card all prepped and ready to go to my hubby in one months time......sweet!

Here goes:

I dug into my stash for these older papers from Echo Park 'Yours Truly', together with a few stickers, twine and bling.

I also created my own charm using another sticker, an epoxy cover and a metal charm frame from Epiphany Crafts.

I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week......don't forget to link up over on the blog.

See you later,
Jayne.x.
