Happy Father's Day.......in July!?!

I've been lucky enough to have had my parents visiting from across the pond last month, followed by my in-laws this month....(also from across the pond.) So I'm driving around the other day and suddenly realize that the gift for latter mentioned father is still sitting in a dark corner of my scrap closet........this is where I stashed it many weeks ago, so that I wouldn't forget to hand it over in person when they arrived. Ooops......I forgot! Hence, Father's Day in July.....better late than never I guess.

So this was the card that was tucked in there........

.....is he a 'Dude' or what? As soon as I saw this image (whose name is Leroy by the way) from In Style Stamps I knew he would be perfect. Let's just say that both of the gents mentioned are, unfortunately, a little challenged in the hair department these days! Fortunately, (for me!) they both have a sense of humour, as the sentiment reads "Remember the 'Good Old Days'........when you had hair!"

This is the version I handed over (on the correct date) to my Dad, with a slight variation in hair colour, both on the head and chest (he he!) to make it a little more personal.......

I coloured with the usual suspects......Prisma pencils, gamsol and Copic markers and the background PP's are from the Basic Grey Max and Whiskers line.

That's all for now.

AWOL!!.....

Apologies......I know I've been a little absent the last few days but my time has been a little preoccupied. It was my dd's birthday today and we are also off on vacation tomorrow, so this week has been divided between buying gifts, laundry, wrapping gifts, laundry, celebrations, laundry and finally, packing....I'm sure you get the picture! All of this meant very little time for crafting. My posts will probably be scarce or non existent next week as I don't think I'll have access to Internet, but I am hoping to colour a few images whilst I'm 'chillin' by the beach with my glass of vino.

I may try to fit in a scheduled post sometime next week but otherwise, hopefully I will have something to show you when I return.
Til then..........Bon voyage!

Oh to be a tree.......

The challenge this week over at Little Red Wagon was to create something with a tree in there somewhere. I thought that would be fun and stored the idea somewhere in the back of my mind......way back!! Unfortunately, when I finally retrieved and created, I'd sort of...well......missed the challenge (he he). Oh well, you could notice this may happen often. At least I have another card to add to the stash, which, with the amount of Birthday party's my kids are attending recently, is getting a little depleted.

Here goes........

I thought the little sentiment on there would work well as a Congrats/Good Luck type of card and......what.......no colouring?? I felt like I'd returned to JK when I started this as it was very 'cut' and 'paste', that is....I had no tree template or die so I had to go back to basics and........DRAW!! Aaaaaaaaagh, anyone that knows me quickly realizes that I am most definitely not artistic so I am quite proud that I have not embarrassed myself too much.

So, on to the next project. Let's see which other challenge deadlines I can miss...........

Charming.......

The challenge over at Mo's Challenge Blog this week was to create something with a masculine theme, so here is my offering............

........Prince Charming in all his glory! I love Mo Manning's illustrations, no-one seems to capture the essence of childhood as she does, so if you'd like to browse some great digi images or play along with the challenge, hop on over and take a look.

When I was deciding on a layout for this card, I came across another challenge on CPS to use sketch #176......how convenient.....put the two together and.......hey presto, job done, two challenges in one.

I think I also have a new record for myself. I coloured this image using 3 mediums.....Copic markers, Prisma Color pencils and I even pulled out my Martha Stewart colouring pencils as I needed a particular shade I couldn't find! Oh well....whatever works. I also added a little glitter to the jewels and fur lining of the cloak.

That's All Folks.....til tomorrow.........

I Do !

So tomorrow we are off to my girlfriends wedding. Should be a fun day. The festivities are going to be pretty relaxed in the hope that everyone has......well.........FUN! So, on that note, this is the card I'll be handing over........not your traditional wedding card.....not a ring/flower/bells/dove/cake (etc.etc.) in sight.

This is the front........

........and inside

I originally made this card for a challenge on the forum over at Two Scrapbook Friends, which was to create a non-traditional wedding/anniversary card. The digital image is from In Style Stamps.
If you love the whole 'retro' scene, that's the place to go. I coloured mainly with Prisma's and a touch of Copics for skin and chrome. I also added glossy accents to the headlights as a finishing touch.

Summertime..........

The challenge over at Stamping Bella this week was a sketch....wooooo hoooooo........that makes it easier on my brain. I decided to use one of the Turtle Tots. Aint she sweet...makes me want to run out for ice-cream.

I coloured her up using Prisma pencils and used leftover scraps of PP from the We R Memory Keepers 72 and Sunny line.......love that range of papers. That together with some fake paper pierced stitching, a couple of 'Nesties', a brad and some epoxy letters I've had in my stash forever......we're done.

Happpy New Blog !!

So here it is.........my brand spanking shiny new (and only) blog. I can't believe it! I confess.....I'm fairly computer challenged, so to get this far is a miracle. I may as well apologize in advance....posts may occasionally disappear, get re-arranged etc. all without my knowledge...or intention I should say, so be warned.

So for todays momentous first posting....that's it! Short and sweet, and hopefully by tomorrow I will have something to show you.....and will have figured out how to successfully upload an image worth seeing (lol).

Till then........
