A Christmas mission..........

Hi there, did you all have a good weekend?

First I have to start by saying, I don't know how those of you living in the States survive the whole 'Black Friday'......'Cyber Monday' thing! I realise here in Canada we only get a small glimpse of the chaos you endure every year, but OMG!

I ventured out to the Mall on Friday, not really giving a thought to anything other than the fact that I needed a Birthday gift. I returned, hot and bothered, 4 hours and 3 near collisions later. What is it about the prospect of a bargain that miraculously changes the laws of the road, increases the speed limit and generally causes people to behave like complete idiots?

Lesson learned - any day of the week that is affectionately preceded by the term 'Black' anything, is a sure indication that one should stay safely tucked inside their home.......which is exactly what I will be doing next year! LOL

Anyhow, rant over, we need something to sweeten things up a little and I have just the thing....a card of course. These two guys are too cute, and obviously on a Christmas mission........unfortunately, I think one has definitely drawn the short end of the stick.........

Don't you just want to take them home?
I think even my hubby (who is not what you would call an animal lover!) would put up with this pair.

The stamp....yes, the acrylic variety, is actually a freebie I got on one of those awesome, fairly reasonably priced, card magazines you get in England that always have some sort of 'freebie' included. This side of the pond, magazine prices are quite often extortionate, and the only added extra we get is the entitlement to pay 'Tax' on top of the already over inflated fee! Fortunately I have very generous Parents and In-laws who bring me a nice little collection every time they come over to visit.

Wow, I think I may be on my soap box today, but I'm actually in a very good mood......honest!

Back to the details.

'Sooty' and 'Snowy', as every black and white 'Westie' I've ever known was called.........(OK I've only ever known one of each!) are coloured with Copic's and you may notice a small amount of paper piecing on the doggie coat there. I think I should win an award for the teeny, tiniest, piece of paper piecing ever..............see that teensy strip that lies between the leash? One milimetre wide I tell ya! You can just imagine me trying to glue it in the right spot (and what I might have been saying at the time!!!!). Worth the effort though of course.....ha!

I added liquid applique and a light sprinkling of glitter, to create the snow. Papers are from the 6"x6" Authentique Christmas pad, and the sentiment is another $1.50 rubber stamp from Michael's.

I should warn you that this is the first of many Christmas cards you'll be seeing over the next few weeks.....I have a fair few lined up for ya. I'll try and throw in something different occasionally for a little variety, but what can I say......Tis' the season!

That's it from me for today.....I'm off to colour, so have a good one.
Catch you later

Grunge ragamuffin........(But darn cute!!)

Hi there, how's you freezing rain Wednesday? Havin' fun?

We need a little sweetness to brighten the day, so what better than an image from Saturated Canary? How long has it been since I last said "This is my latest favourite card"? Got to be over a month, so it's time for another.

Here's my latest favourite card, a 'Hand-me-down ragamuffin' with a generous helping of grunge............

She is so sweet, and for some reason I decided she needed to be a fiery redhead. One of the reasons for that, is that the current challenge over at Saturated Canary is to use 'Autumn' colours, so decision made.

Colouring is with Copic's and papers are from Authentique.

Enjoy your day

Joy!

As promised (maybe a touch late, but who's checking!) here's another little bit of Bo Bunny goodness from the 'Blitzen' collection. This time it's not a card......not even a Scrapbook page! This time I stepped out of my box.......no JUMPED even and came up with.........a picture frame.

Yep I know it's not that 'rad'......not way out there......but it's not a card, so for me, that's WAAAAAAAY out there!

First, let's see how it started out............

....................a $1.50 frame that I picked up from Michael's months ago with the thought "I can do something with that.....one day!"

Then I started cutting and applying random pieces of the paper...........

When the frame is covered, let loose with the distress ink.............

.............and then a generous layer of Mod Podge over everything...........

Lastly, embellish as much or as little as you like, then pop into the oven for 20 mins at Gas mark...........Oops! Sorry, I switched into Delia Smith mode for a moment there! (those of you who are English will know who I'm talking about....those of you who aren't, don't worry about it!)

I embellished with a combination of the chipboard elements from the 'Blitzen' collection, together with bare chipboard letters (covered with scraps of the paper, to match) bling and ribbon.

So here's one I made earlier.......Ta Daaaaaa........

Wow, who are those two cuties in the centre there?

This will be joining the rest of our Christmas ornaments on the shelf this year, which means I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Have a great day and I'll catch you later

TGIF!

Let the weekend begin already.

I know the hippie chick on today's card is more than ready to party..........these boots are definitely made for more than walking!

So here goes, we're taking it back to the 60's baby..............

Yep, she is 'stylin'! I love this image called '60's Ivy', another goodie from Lil Lolita which you can find over at Tickled Pink Stamps.

Ivy is coloured with Copic's............

and papers are from the Cosmo Cricket 'Nutmeg' 6"x6" pad. The sentiment is a $1.50 rubber stamp I picked up from Michael's quite a while ago.

That's it for today so make sure you have a great weekend. We'll be heading off to the Santa Clause Parade in our neck of the woods.......can you believe it, a Christmas parade already? I'm only just recovering from our Summer/Fall vacation!

See you soon

Blitzen.

Good morning, how's your Monday going so far? The start of another busy week in our house.

A while ago I was given the opportunity by my local scrapbook store, Two Scrapbook Friends, to work with the Bo Bunny 'Blitzen' Christmas collection. I think with our vacation and all, my head must have been in the clouds cause I completely forgot to post any of it on my blog!

Anyhow, I had a whole load of fun playing with it, and better late than never, I thought I start by posting a couple of the Christmas cards I made.

Here's the first using some of the papers and dimensional stickers.............

.............together with some ribbon and a Tim Holtz ticket

Here's the second, again using more of the papers, one of the chipboard elements, snowflake stickers and some bling from the button pack...............

This a great collection, I highly recommend it for the season and I 'll be showing some more creations from it, during this week.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Happy Hedgehog...............

Good morning. I think I'm back into the routine.....ever noticed how when you return from a vacation, firstly it seems like a million years ago since you were soaking up the fun, and secondly, you feel like you need a vacation to recover from your vacation!

Well it's a crisp 4 degrees here today - not Florida temperatures for sure. I'm actually sitting inside the house with my scarf tied around my neck. However, all is quiet, I have the house to myself, plenty of baking to do, a list of chores as long as my arm, and who knows........maybe a little crafting! Ha, I think the latter will have to wait.

For today's sampling I dived into the Prisma's.........haven't done that for a while, but this cute little fella was crying out for a little softness (even if he is a little prickly!). Here's one sweet little hedgehog..............

I believe this little guy was a freebie I once picked up from Di's Digi Downloads.

When I return to pencils after using markers for quite some time, I almost feel as though I'm starting over. It takes me a while to get into them, as I don't colour in the same way as I do with Copic's. Still, I always love the softness of them, and the seamless blending you can achieve.

Papers are from Cosmo Cricket's 'Earth Love' 6"x6" pad.

That's it from me for today, so have a good one and I'll see you soon

A Not So Scary Halloween!

Hi there, hope you're all having a good week. Where have you been during the last couple of weeks I hear you ask?

Well........have we been busy bee's I tell ya, but I'm not going to let you in on exactly what just yet!

We've been planning a surprise for our girls over the last few months, and a couple of weeks ago, it was finally time to deliver the goods........so of course I made a card!

See if you can guess the surprise.............

Easy peasy huh?

Just in case you're still unsure, here's the verse I popped inside ...........

So after that, they were each given an envelope to open, containing their own souvenir Disney luggage tag.

Did you guess right?

Yep, after they'd finished running around the house, we spent 10 days riding, eating, greeting and generally having a whole load of fun at Disney World, Florida. It was their first visit and hopefully not the last, although my wallet has to recover first!

Halloween there was a blast.......I've never seen so many pirates in my life.....most of them adults, and we're still ploughing our way through the bags of candy we, of course, had to bring home with us!

So there you have it.

I'll be back withing the next couple of days, so

'See Y'all Real Soon'
