Time for another DT reveal.

How's it going today......sick of the white stuff yet?

Personally, I am!  I don't mind the initial "Awww it's pretty" kinda thing but then, quite honestly you can keep it!  I prefer the warm, sipping something cool and dry feet kinda weather.........unless said feet are being dipped in a pool whilst sipping the something cool, know what I mean?

Anyhow, I realise I've yet again been a little slack around here so I guess I have to make up for it.

It's that time again.....time for another Two Scrapbook Friends DT reveal, so at least I'll have a few things to show you over the next few days.

This time around I was given something a little different.....for me anyhow.

I'm guessing most of you have heard of 'Project Life'.......a (hopefully!) quick, easy method of scrapbooking the everyday, perfect for today's busy lives?
Well my kit this month was something along those lines.  I was given one of the latest Photo Freedom releases by Echo Park called Today's Story.

These kits are superb value for money as they include 6 12"x12" double sided papers, 1 12"x12" sticker sheet and 5 different sleeves to hold and form instant layouts.......definitely enough stuff in there to complete the 5 pages as the only extras I added were a few embellies for dimension.

Having said that, my initial thought on seeing the kit was mild panic!

How on earth are you supposed to get the creative juices flowing onto a handful of 4"x6" cards!

The best way to tackle these things is to jump right in, and I was pleasantly surprised along the way as to how stress free these kind of packs are.

Looking back on the finished five pages, some are fairly simple, and some get a little more involved, but I guess that's the huge benefit with these kits........you can make them as quick and easy, or detailed as you like.

So here goes my first sleeve/layout...........'Hello Gorgeous!

(I could be getting myself into a slight amount of trouble if my hubby or father-in-law catch sight of these photo's floating around Blogland, but hopefully, as only one of them checks my blog I'm safe.......right Ted?!!)

So as you can see, this sleeve consists of a variety of horizontal 4"x6" sections together with 4 vertical 4"x3"s.  You can obviously mix things up however you please with a combo of photo's and cards.....the papers give you plenty of choice when deciding what to put where.

I had the perfect vertical photo's in mind to create a gallery of sorts, so I placed them in the 4"x3" slots.  My Sharpie 'paint' pen came in handy to create the quirky frames.

There's a great variety of cards printed on the patterned papers, perfect to hold titles, journalling or to embellish however you please.

This one holds the title, using a selection of stickers from the included sheet.

A little embellishment here, the only added extra to the pack being the rhinestones and twine .

Some of the cards give you the perfect journalling space........a Dymo labeller makes things quick and easy.

And finally, by adding a few wooden veneer circles, and a whole bunch of glitter, the date is recorded for posterity.

So, are you convinced to run out and buy a pack yet?

There's something to be said for working in these small sections, one at a time, especially if you are sometimes daunted by being faced with a 12"x12" sheet of card stock!

Anyhow, I will be back tomorrow with sleeve #2 and a little more convincing, so till then, have a great day,
Jayne.x.

Stay cool sistah!

Good morning......I made it back here for a second time this week at least.

A card for you today using another pretty cool image from Saturated Canary.....did you miss them?  It's been at least a couple of weeks since one made an appearance on here.

Well this is one pretty cool chick who looks as though she has her stuff together, a bit of a wild side and a killer bod to boot, know what I mean?

Here we go.

Told ya!

Couldn't resist a little way out Copic hair colouring for this one........R32 and R35.....cool!

Papers are from Authentique and the layout started as an older sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch, but then turned out nothing like!

Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week,

Big Girls Don't Cry!

Hi there, how's your week been so far?

I know I've been a bad Blogger, but I got a little caught up in finishing various projects and therefor my poor blog suffers, as is the norm!

Anyhow I actually spent the day scrapping with friends yesterday and got absolutely nothing done! One of those days I guess.....mojo nowhere to be found.  It's funny though how the moment takes, because I came home and whipped up a page later that evening within an hour........didn't even wait for the mist to dry!

At least that means there's something for my blog, so here goes:

Big Girls Don't Cry!

There's a little misting over a stencil.

My Dymo Letratag came out to provide quick, easy journalling strips.

And as I didn't have the patience for anything really, stitching was done using a Sharpie and ruler........nope.......... not even a ruler (as you can probably tell!).

Papers for this one are from an older Bo Bunny collection and I used a sketch by Jana Eubank for inspiration.

That's it for today.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow if I can get a card finished.

Have a good day,
Jayne.x.

Piggy Love!

Good morning.

Here I am with my second Valentine card of the season, a day late but who cares!  It did actually get to the recipient on time which is the main thing.

Anyhow, nothing conveys the big 'L' emotion like a pig.....yes?

Maybe not, but again.....who cares if the image is super cute!  Almost makes me want to run out and buy a pig.......almost!

Here we go:

Details for this one are pretty much the same as yesterday's card..........digi is from Sliekje and coloured with Copic's

..........papers are from last years Valentine collection by We R Memory Keepers, and the layout is based on Sketch #88 over at The Deconstructed Sketch.

That's about it from me so have yourselves a great long weekend.

I'll be back next week with something suitably crafty, I hope.
Take care,
Jayne.x.

A whole wagon full of love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm here to shower you all with a whole wagon load full of love.......on a card at least.

Thought I'd better actually post a Valentine card, seen as it is the big V Day.  As always, I'm running a little behind in the card making department so there will be another on here tomorrow.  Ahh well, you can never have to much Luuurve huh?

Here goes today's......this one was given to my youngest.

The image was a freebie from eons ago from Sliekje......she really does the cutest animal images and is pretty generous with her freebies!

Colouring is with Copic's............

.........papers are last years Valentine collection from We R Memory Keepers, and the layout inspiration was provided by Sketch #87 over at The Deconstructed Sketch.

Hope you have a wonderful day.......share the love!

See you tomorrow,
Jayne.x.

A little Va Va Voom!

Good morning.

I have a card up today, one which shows I finally got around to trying out the 'Mini Blind' technique I'd seen a few weeks ago, over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Thought I'd kill two birds with one stone too, as it's Monday, and my turn for another Crafty Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum.

For this weeks challenge I chose an oldie' but 'goodie'......paper piecing!

So here goes with Step 1, cause there are steps to this you know.

Moving smoothly into Step 2......a gentle pull on both ties.

And finally Step 3, where we do actually get to see some paper piecing.

That dress just had to be an animal print, don't ya think?

This card is actually heading to my Mother-In-Law for her Birthday.  The inside sentiment reads ".......but you've still got it!"  Thought she might appreciate that, and you have to keep on the good side of Mother-In-Laws don't you?

Digi is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Copics.  Papers are from Basic Greys' "Little Black Dress' collection.

Feel free to join in with this weeks challenge and I'll see you again soon.
Have a good day,
Jayne.x.

When I See Your Face.......

Well hello there.....are you snowed in?

Here in Ontario we're in the middle of a minor major snowstorm so what better day than to be 'online' huh?

I have the perfect thing to keep you company.  You won't even have to leave the house!

The Two Scrapbook Friends 'Let's Connect' Online Crop is starting, well......right NOW, and runs for a whole week, so get yourselves over to the Forum and join in the fun!

Before you go though, let's talk challenges......mine to be precise.

As the theme of the crop is in reference to the various forms of social media, each of the DT were assigned one of the most common forms, to gear their challenge around.

Lucky old me was handed......Facebook!

So for my challenge.......a recipe of sorts.

Below you'll see a list of ingredients.  I've taken a few of the most common elements associated with Facebook, alongside which is an explanation of the technique/embellishment you are required to include in your creation.

I would like you to choose 3 (or more!) 'ingredients' for your recipe and include these on your card, layout or whatever other ingenious creation you would like to dazzle us with!

Here are your options:

Facebook: Include a photo/digi/stamp that is a close up or head shot. The 'Spotlight' technique would also qualify for the card makers amongst us.

Wall: Use something to create a wall (stencil/embossing folder/die cut blocks or shapes).

Post: Use journalling somewhere (strips, computer/handwritten, or a sentiment).

Like: Use a favourite tool/embellishment.

Tag: Use a tag.

Friends: Include photographs of friends or some reference to the word friends in your title/sentiment.

Poke: Include an arrow or pointed finger (like one of those cool vintage hand images with the pointed finger that seems to be popping up everywhere!).

Albums: Use 3 or more photographs/images/stamps.

Music: Use a song title or lyrics in your title/sentiment/journalling. Or you could even go literal here and use musical notes on your creation.

Games: Include some reference to a game such as in your photo's/image, title, journalling, embellishments.

For my sample I used 6 ingredients:

Facebook
Wall
Post
Like
Albums
Music

See if you can find them!

Did you get them all?

When I look at this layout now it looks pretty simple, but it was one of those 3 day layouts, know what I mean? The one's which start off well, then get very complicated, take forever to finish, then look as though you whipped them up within a half an hour!

Not the case people!

With having to wait for the drying time of first the texture paste, then speckled paint, the hand cutting and matting of every photo (basically because I didn't trust my Slice (or rather me!) to cut off any ears in the process!), then layering/popping them in sequence, the individual gluing of every alpha as they didn't want to stick to the textured background, and then hand sewing for half a lifetime......took a little longer than the average page!

Still all worth it in the end I'm sure......another page for the book.

Here are a few close-ups.

The textured wall background with a little splattering .........Note to self: Use a 12"x12" stencil in the future whenever possible, especially when covering a whole sheet of cardstock. I'm sure this would be much easier than trying to paste, re-position, paste etc. etc.

The hand cut photographs, some of which are 'popped' for a little added dimension.

One of my 3D button hearts and a couple of pins.......always like these......pretty!  Oh and don't forget that stitching.

Well that's about all.

Just a few deets about the Crop challenges before I leave:

1. All entries must be newly created for each individual challenge, and posted to the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum no later than 11.59pm on February 18.
2. Remember to post your entries in both the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery, and in the individual DT challenge thread over on the Forum.
3. For my particular challenge, remember to include your chosen ingredients in your post,  along with your creation.

I hope you have fun with this one.

I'll be back here on Monday as I realize I've been a bad blogger this week.........had a  few DT projects to be getting on with so I have a little catching up to do.

See you then and have a great weekend.......remember......bend at the knees when shovelling!

'Leaf' me Breathless!

Hello there, how's your week been?  Good or bad.......at least we're heading into the weekend.

I'm back with a card for you again today.  I intended to be here a little more often this week, but the usual stuff got in the way and I have DT things to work on too, so I'm here.......eventually!

Today's card features the old Copic's (as usual!) but no 'girlie' for once.  Nope, this times it's a boy and a cute one at that.  I have to thank Joanne for putting me in touch with this cute image from Whimsie Doodles and I realize we're a little past the 'raking of the leaves' stage, but he has been waiting patiently coloured since November, and has just made it to a card.

Here goes.......

As you can see, I tried really hard to make a scene for this one, but being British, 'one' should never make a scene, so this is the best I could do!

I am quite proud of my hand-drawn tree however, as my drawing skills are truly abysmal!

Papers are from an MME Six By Six pad (Away We Go) and as previously mentioned, colouring of this little chap is courtesy of the Copics.

Have a wonderful day and a productively crafty weekend.
See you next week,
Jayne.x.
