Egg Hunt.

Good morning....is it a Happy Monday?  The sun is shining, the kiddo's are back to school, which means myself and my house can finally recuperate!

Today's creation is a scrapbook page, and a double no less!  I confess, I am definitely not a double page person.  I'm just not comfortable creating them and when I see the gorgeous creations others seem to manage, I'm never quite satisfied with my own efforts.  Anyhow, I didn't have much choice with this layout, as I had so many photo's to try and fit in there.........double page, here I come!

This one's called "Egg Hunt 2011"........

Wish I could make the photo a little larger, but alas 'No', so you'll just have to click on the image for a better view.

This is my final LO using the We R Memory Keepers 'Cottontail' collection from my Design Team kit for Two Scrapbook Friends.

Now, as it's a double, and me being completely out of my comfort zone, I knew there wasn't a hope in you know where of me pulling this off alone, so I reverted to a 2 page sketch from Sketch Support.

There are obviously lots of photo's on there, as well as layers of paper, plenty of trim, pearls and chipboard elements dotted here and there.

The Easter egg is just an oval I cut and embellished with a border punch, ribbon and a button..........

and the title is cut using my Slice......couldn't resist turning the '0' into another little egg........

Every Easter in our house, we do a little treasure hunt to find the eggs, complete with rhymed verse clues (which 'Mom' is usually sitting up writing out way past midnight, on the evening before!).  I thought it would be cool to print these out and make a pocket, to keep them on the page.....so that's what I did.......

So that's it.....make the most of it, cause I can pretty much guarantee there won't be another double around these parts for quite some time!

Have a great day enjoying the sunshine, and I'll be back again sometime this week.
Take care

It's an awesome double, Jayne! I love all the mini photos and putting a copy of the treasure hunt poem in a little pocket is a fabulous idea.

Oh Jayne...you should do more double layouts. We truly got the flavour of the girls' Easter. I love everything about this page...the paper, embellishments, the colours, the layout and the extras you thought of! What a great Mum to write out all those clues. The girls are really fortunate to have a Mum like you!!

Jayne,
For one who says is not comfy with a double page, you aced it!!! Such a beautiful story to follow. It will be great for the girls later to reminisce about the "good old days".

And yes I hope your girls realize how lucky they are to have a mom who takes so much time and effort to make this event so "eggxtra" special for them.
