Be Mine.......

Hi there, here I am on a snowy Sunday!

If you're looking for the Two Scrapbook Friends Valentine Blog Hop then please scroll down to the next post.....or if that's a little too much trouble (I know, it's Sunday!) then click here.

So on with today's creation. I realised the other day that I haven't posted a single Valentine on here, the main reason for this being that....well....I hadn't made any! (hanging head in shame). So the rush began on Thursday to come up with something for my darling husband, darling children, and the 50 other kids in their relevant classes! Nothing like last minute to spur the creative juices.

Anyhow the point of my rambling is that I will be posting a few Valentine's on here, from now till the big day.

For today, here's the first for my youngest............

Don't you just love sweet little mice holding love heart candies? lol

But really, she is pretty sweet. This was one of the digi's included in the Mega Bundle I picked up from Pollycraft.....lot's of cutie's in there. I'm not entirely sure if 'he' is a 'she'.......it's either Mimi or Marley....can't remember, but for today's purposes, 'he's' a 'she'........get it?

She's coloured with Copic's..........

and papers are from the We R Memory Keepers 'Love Struck' line. I added some of my new yummy seam binding ribbon (which I scrunched a little) from my scrappy friend Dee.....thanks Dee, and of course a button............

There's a teeny bit of bling added at the bottom to finish things off..........

The layout for today's card was inspired by a sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

Well that's it from me, but don't forget to come back tomorrow for the continuation of my mini 'lovefest'!

Have a great day

So on with the show..............

For my little creation, I decided to make an 'Explosion Box'. Haven't made one for a while but this one came together perfectly. Here's the outside view.........

I used papers from the super sweet We R Memory Keepers 'Love Struck' line, which of course you can find at TSF. Here's a close up of the lid, showing one of the tags and clear acrylic stamps, which you can also find in the collection.............

Is this little guy not the cutest?

I think I could probably forgive him firing sharp pointy things in my direction!
He's coloured with Copic's and has a little super fine glitter added to his wings.

And finally the inside..............

No mass explosion, but the strands of acetate do bounce quite nicely in real life.
When I got around to adding the small hearts, I realized I didn't have a punch/die small enough, so they are actually portions cut from punched flowers.

For the center heart, I used a Martha Stewart punch and the trusty Dymo labeller made an appearance....................

Well that's all from me....I don't think I could possibly fit any more photo's in here!

Don't forgot to head on over to Joanne's blog to continue the 'Hop'........I'm sure she will have something beautiful to feast your eye's on.

Before you go, remember........

Gotta love twine!

OK I'm flying by the seat of my pants today, trying to fit in the impossible 100 things I'm supposed to be doing, so here we go!

Sharon posted a Crafty Challenge this week over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, which of course I had to join in because the subject matter was 'Twine'. Love it, all kinds, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to scrap my other daughter's school photo, and use up the last of the intended papers. You can see my first LO here.

I'm liking how this one turned out too, so here goes..........

The papers, which I really do love, are from Graphic 45 and the LO for this page was inspired by a sketch from Pagemaps. You can see my natural hemp twine added at the bottom of the photograph, holding a heart charm from my stash..........

The stars are cut using my Slice, and I gave them a little 3D effect by scoring/folding through the center of each point.............

Everything else is cut from sections of the patterned paper, including the title where I've added alpha stickers from Doodlebug Designs............

Well that's it from me.

Have a great day and don't forget to check back in tomorrow for the Valentine Blog Hop.
See you then

My first ATC.

Hi there, hope you're having a good week so far.

I recently joined an ATC swap on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, which originally, I had no intention of taking part in! I have nothing against ATC's, I'd just never made one before and didn't think I would have any need for them.

That was until I saw the colour scheme that was chosen......teal, brown and cream.......how could I refuse?

The theme for the swap was decided around the beginning of the year, so we all chose a word for our year.....a resolution.......a commitment of sorts. I chose "Strive".

So ATC 101 here we go and I was away, along with 11 other lovely ladies.

Today I'm just going to show you my ATC, as I purchased the perfect frame to hold all twelve, but can't quite decide how to finish it yet! I'm torn between keeping things simple or adding some 'crackle'.

I'll post the whole ensemble when it's done, but for now, today's word is "Strive"................

I kept things fairly simple, but when the idea of associating wings with the word "Strive" stumbled through my brain, I knew the feathers would have to make an appearance!

The background paper is from My Minds Eye but the script and note paper are Prima. I cut the teeny wings with my Slice and printed the word using.....well.....Word!

I hope you'll drop in again when I can show you the finished dozen.....beauties I tell ya!
Have a great day

Meoooow.........

Good morning. I meant to drop in on Friday with this post but didn't make it here, so I thought I'd make an appearance today.

I've been joining in with challenges again on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, and this week we started our brand new 'Sketch' challenge, drawn by members of the DT. Sharon created an awesome sketch this week and beautiful Scrapbook page to go with it, but I decided to create a card............

Like I said "Meoooow"!

Here's the sketch.........

I condensed it a little by using the main central elements for my card LO.

The digi is a freebie (I think or I could have won it....not sure!) that I picked up ages ago from Karber. This sexy lady is coloured with Copic's, and she either really needs to eat more, or next time around I need to print the image a little larger........talk about making things difficult for myself!

Paper's are from the Basic Grey 'Little Black Dress' 6"x6" pad (appropriate I thought!) with a little tulle, trim, bling and flowers added from my stash.

The sentiment is a stamp from the $1.50 bin at Michael's.

So that's it, I'll be back during the week sometime.......I'm trying to behave myself by being a regular blogger! Enjoy the rest of your day

A belt buckle?

Hello, I've decided it's layout Thursday....well for this week anyhow.

I've been trying to play along with a few challenges again over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum. We've gone through a little re-vamp recently, so there's something going on pretty much every day! This Crafty Challenge was issued by fellow DT member Sharlene a couple of weeks ago, but you still have till 15th of this month to enter, if you feel like joining in.

The challenge was to use a belt buckle, which required me digging through my stash for the buckles I know I bought approx. 5 years ago when I started Scrapbooking. I'm sure I bought them with the thought "I can use these one day", so I guess I was right......5 years later!

Anyhow, here's my simple little LO using one (yes, there are still more left in my stash to be used over the next 5 years!) of the belt buckles...........

I really like these papers from Graphic45 which I picked long before the school photographs were taken. Here's my belt buckle, together with a cute bookplate I cute from one of the sheets of PP..............

The title is using alpha stickers from Webster's Pages, which were put onto a tag cut, again from a sheet of the PP. The number '3' has Glossy Accents added and is from a totally different line of paper.............

Finally, the little ink splatters you see on there, were made by me, stealing my daughters paint and randomly flicking it on there with a paint brush!

I think that's everything so enjoy your day and I'll see you tomorrow
