Good afternoon......hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Easter break.
I am.
Sneaking a little of the kiddo's chocolate, snippets of time to scrap a page or two and everything was made just a little sweeter today with AN ANNOUNCEMENT! Dum dum daaaaaaaah!
A little while ago Scrapmuch?! posted a DT call for their inaugural Sketch Team, and as I'd been considering the idea of a sketch team for a while I decided to apply.
The stars must have aligned just perfectly because I'm happy to say I'm now officially a member of their brand spanking new Sketch Design Team!
Yay!
Having attended a few of their retreats and crops in the past, the gals over at Scrapmuch?! are always such fun to be around so I'm more than happy to be joining them in their new venture.
As part of the application process, we were given a sketch to work with, created by their talented designer Laura Whitaker.
So today I'm sharing the page I created, and a little background behind it.
First the Sketch......
and here's my page:
I had been wanting to get this page done for a couple of weeks prior to the DT call deadline, and as seems to happen quite often with a few of my pages I procrastinated with the outcome!
I placed pieces here and there, moved them around yet again, changed certain elements and each time, was still not really happy with the outcome.
Although I LOVE to scrapbook, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and sometimes I get so concerned about the final outcome that I forget to enjoy the process!
Eventually I was forced to create the page within an hour on the final day of applications.
My point is......lesson learned - less of the procrastination and more fun! This has actually turned out to be one of my favourite pages I've created recently, with only an hour allowed!
I played around with Molding Paste, a stencil, paint and stamps on the background.
The whole page was inspired by this one little word sticker by Heidi Swapp!
Lots of layers on there too.
And finally, one last confession.....the last day for applications to Scrapmuch?! happened to coincide with a new 'Selfie' challenge being launched over at Inspiration Elevator, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.
Unfortunately though, I completely forgot that there was a second element to their challenge this week.......to include on your page an insight into your scrapbooking, so I admit I have added the journalling afterward!
Pretty much sums everything up perfectly.......me on a page surrounded by some of my favourite things!
Well that's all from me, but why not head over to Scrapmuch?! and check out the awesome talent I'll be keeping company with over the next 6 months? A new Sketch will be posted on their blog every week and it would be awesome if you joined us!
Have a wonderful final day of the long weekend and I'll be back on Wednesday.
Till then,
Jayne.x.
