Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Blowing Raspberries

Good morning!

There's a brand new Sketch over on the Scrapmuch? blog which means it's time to get your craft on!

I don't really know what it was about my page, but when I started this one I had no idea where I was going with it......the only thing I'd decided upon was the title.

Interesting where creativity takes you I guess - sometimes good places, sometimes not so!

Blowing Raspberries

Is he a whole load of cuteness or what?

Shame he looks nothing like that now after his recent 'trim'....more like a chihuahua!!

I started out with a kraft base and used my Silhouette to cut various files from the Ahoy There paper collection by Carta Bella.

Once everything was on there I splattered away with a little white acrylic paint.

Did you see I managed to get one of my faves on there?  A pin button holding down that messy thread.

And here's that title I mentioned.....the only sure thing on the page!

So all you need now is the lovely sketch and then you can join in with the challenge to try and win yourself some goodies!

Tadaaaa!

Don't forget to link up over at Scrapmuch? and check out a little more inspiration from the rest of the team.

Have a great day and I'll be seeing you again tomorrow with a sweet little page for another sweet little challenge!

Till then,
Jayne.x.

Love You To The Moon

Happy Saturday!

We made it through the first week of school, or part week anyhow!  Only another 40 something to go.

I didn't quite make it back here yesterday as time ran away with me.  We're having a mini Spring Fall clean out.....tidying out the garage ready for Winter, having a clothing clear out, so yesterday I managed to find 8 bag loads for the consignment store.

I've yet to tackle the coat closet.......almost afraid to venture in there!

Anyhow, I am here today and I have the second layout from my Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using the 'Ahoy There' collection from Carta Bella.

I mentioned in my first post here that I love the quality of Carta Bella patterned papers, and today's examples are no exception, but they do have the added bonus of including a  Kraft patterned paper.........could it get any better?!

My page is also a tribute to my DH who doesn't get scrapped all that often, although he seems to have made a few more appearances lately!

Love You To The Moon.

Ooooh look at all that white space!

Yes, I'll admit, I was itching to fill it, but nothing seemed to work so I left it 'as is'.

The main design is obviously the variety of triangles both paper (which I stitched to the page) and chipboard (which I painted with acrylic paint).

I had a completely different title and idea for this page, but when I was flicking through my stash looking for something else, I came across a package of journal kinda tags from Jillibean Soup.

A new title was born!

Of course I had to use another of those lovely nautical wooden stars, and a touch of messy stitching worked well.

Finally.........embossing powder!

My new, old, reborn love!

I've thrown this stuff on everything recently and I'm thoroughly enjoying using old stash in a new(er) way.

This time I applied it over a 'brush stroke' stamp and placed it here and there around the page.

I think that just about covers things so I guess it's time for me to get ready for work.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week,

Tall Ships......and a Sketch.

Well hello there.

I hope you are all having a great long weekend if you're here in Canada?

It's like the calm before the storm.......the last day of freedom before a new school year starts, although it could be the other way around, with today being a little busy and not so calm.......laundry, packing backpacks, lunch planning.

I'm hoping 9.30am tomorrow will bring some much awaited peace and serenity!

We had a great week last week........the Morgan's survived their first camping expedition.  The weather was fabulous considering the initial gloomy forecast and even the puppy had oodles of fun digging the same hole on the beach 20 times over!

Here's a little snapshot of his usual pose after the digging!

It's a hard life!

Anyhow, back to some crafty stuff and I'm starting today with a layout from another Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit, this time using the 'Ahoy There' collection from Carta Bella.

This company always produces awesome quality patterned papers........the kind you like to run your fingers over constantly (or is that just me?!)

This line is no different, and together with a fabulous nautical colour scheme, hopefully it's a recipe for success!

My first page captures our family memories of a year ago, when we were fortunate enough to visit the 'Tall Ships' docked in Hamilton harbour.

Not quite so surprisingly entitled.......Tall Ships!

I'm not 100% sure if I like this one.  It's rather busy and I tend to shy away from busy.  I guess I'm out of practice when it comes to scrapping 5 photo's on a page.

I did have loads of useful stickers to make use of on here, starting with a perfect banner for the theme of this page.....

........and a few more down here, alongside brass eyelets and fixtures, which seemed to be called for.

A wooden nautical star from my stash.....perfect, and I designed and cut the 'family' photo mat using my Silhouette.

Finally, the title.......a combination of another Silhouette cut, together with more alpha stickers.

Well that's just about all for that, but I do have a Sketch for you.

Enjoy your day and I'll see you Wednesday,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #246 - I Need A Vacation

There's a new challenge up over on the Little Red Wagon blog...........

and this week Tracy would like to see creations with a vacation or travel theme.

There are lots of possibilities with this one.......you could use modes of transportation, travel related items, vacation activities etc. etc.  How you run with this is entirely up to you, just ensure there's something travel/vacation related on there.

I had some left over scraps from a recent DT Kit (Ahoy There by Carta Bella) so I used the nautical theme in a more 'romantic' way.......don't worry, this will be heading to my DH at some point.

Why not dig into your stash and create your own travel kinda thing.......you know you're in need of vacation, and if you're anything like me, this is as close as you're getting right now!

Link up over on the blog and check out a little inspiration from the rest of the Girlfriends too.

Have a great day and I'll see you Friday,

Two Scrapbook Friends 'Around The World' Crop!

Hello and welcome to the Two Scrapbook Friends 'Around The World' Crop!

As promised the other day, the Two Scrapbook Friends (Joanne and Carolyn) together with myself and the rest of the Design Team, will be issuing a few Crafty Challenges for you this week.  You have a chance of winning one of three very cool prizes if you link up your creations over on The Blog or in The Gallery and Forum!

Sounds good huh?

So I'm here today with my challenge.

When I think of travel and the endless array of countries accessible to us in this day and age, I think 'Food'!

I admit, I'm a total 'foodie'!

Nothing pleases me more than eating good food, sampling new dishes, and the vast and varied flavours we associate with different parts of the Globe.

I do however draw the line at bugs........deep fried or otherwise!

Anyhow, this is my challenge to you.

Create something crafty.......a scrapbook page, card, altered item or whatever you please, with a particular food or drink in mind.

Think pizza, pasta and gelato from Italy.  Oriental dishes from the
Far East.  Fish and chips with a cup of tea from the good old UK or even a curry and mango lassi from India.

Mmmmm my mouth is watering already!

Having mentioned a few exotic, taste bud teasing varieties of food and drink, my scrapbook sample does in fact showcase something a little closer to home...........the totally delicious, low calorie (ahem!), good old fashioned 'Milkshake'!

Here goes:

I love the colour scheme of this new collection I picked up from the store the other day........Rough & Tumble by Carta Bella.

I set to work on the background paper with stencil and mist, and doodled wherever I felt the urge...........

My usual dose of wooden embellishment is layered in there, and also some subtle 'checkerboard stamping here and there.

Finally, a little sewing to finish things nicely.

So are you feeling inspired to go create your own taste bud teasing work of art?

Me...........I'm off to raid the fridge!

Don't forget to check out the challenges and creations from the rest of the DT as I guarantee you'll be suitably impressed.  The links to their blogs are over there in the sidebar on the left.

Also, remember to hop on over to the Two Scrapbook Blog where you can check out all the deets of important stuff you need to know.

Well that's about it from me so have a great weekend.

I'm off on Saturday for a full day of scrapping with an awesome bunch of gals.......can't wait........just have to actually pack something!

See you soon,
Jayne.x.
