Inspiration Elevator - Fun In The City

Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level;  to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking beyond the mundane.
You can see all of Inspiration Elevator's previous challenges on Facebook .

This month's challenge is issued by the creative Katherine Sutton. Katherine has a fabulous, eclectic style where she showcases all kinds of mediums and keeps the focus on her great photos. This month she has a warm seasonal challenge for us. Here it is in her own words:

" 'cos Autumn is all about layers of leaves and layers of jumpers (in the northern hemisphere) I would like to challenge you to add lots of layers to your page....this could be layers of paints, inks, stamps, papers, glassine paper, acetate....lots of lovely layers."

So, I myself love to use layers on all of my pages whether it's a clean and simple look, or messy mixed media kind of thing..........they're a fairly easy way of adding depth and interest to your layout.

For this months challenge I decided to push myself further and get creative with my layers.

Here's what I ended up with:

Fun In The City.

As you can hopefully see, I got and oversized 8"x12" photograph developed at Costco and layered it behind a mask I cut using my Silhouette.

It provides a funky little backdrop and is the perfect accompaniment to my smaller photo, as this is the view of Toronto's cityscape from where we had our fun day out on the Islands.

I added another little cluster of layers down in the left corner of course......

And finished things with a title, again cut using the Silhouette.......I couldn't resist a hand doodled outline!

That's it from me but we encourage you to check out each designer's creation this month: here's a complete list of this month's participating designers!

Why not give the challenge a try yourself? Then pop by our Facebook page and share with us what you created!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Little Red Wagon #199 - Layers

Hi there.

Apologies for my late posting of this weeks Little Red Wagon Challenge.......

........I was on vacation till the beginning of the week, had problems with both FireFox and IE since we got home - neither wanted me to make an appearance here so I'm now attempting Google Chrome, then most of my time has been taken up by this little guy:

Our new bundle of fluff......Charlie.

I've been transported back to the crazy baby days of trying to fit in every possible task during 'nap' time, and although it seems to be his mission to Christen every rug in my house (you know what I mean!), I'll forgive him anything cause he's so darn cute!!

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of Charlie around here, but right now let's get back to the task at hand........this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge was issued by Joanne and she'd like to see at least 3 layers.

No problem!

I am now wondering how a card with 6 or 7 layers on there manages to look as though there's barely anything on it!

Oh well, mission complete.

Papers are 'Fabulous' from Simple Stories and digi is from Pollycraft, coloured with Copic's.  The layout was inspired by this weeks Deconstructed Sketch.

You still have a few more days to join in with this weeks challenge so why not?  Check out some inspiration from the rest of the girlfriends too.

Me, I'm off to do laundry as Charlie's fast asleep at my feet.

Hopefully I'll have a little more success in regards to posting on here next week, so I'll see you then.

Have a great weekend,
Jayne.x.

One Big Kiss!

Welcome to another Monday morning.......always amazes me how quickly they seem to roll around.

It's time for another Crafty Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, and for this weeks challenge I'd like to see you 'Layer It Up'!

Create a card, scrapbook page or anything really with lots of layers on there.

You can choose to layer just one item.....papers, embellies, photo's etc, or you can combine a number of things, the choice is yours.

You can also choose to layer just one area of your project or the whole thing.

For my example, I layered the whole page......nothing like getting your point across!

My page contains a variety of layers.........die cuts, stickers and tags........

trim......

flowers and punched papers.........

washi tape flowers and tags......

Papers on this page are from the Authentique 'Fresh' collection.

If you'd like to join in with this weeks Crafty Challenge, don't forget to upload your creation to the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery and Forum by November 15, in order to collect your buttons.

That's it from me so have a great day and I'll see you later in the week,
Jayne.x.
