Another Friday has rolled around which means there's a brand new Sketch from Laura over on the Scrapmuch? blog, to get the creative juices flowing.
This week Team B is up to provide a little inspiration, so that means a layout from yours truly.
I gotta say I love today's page! You know sometimes you just really like how things turn out........sometimes they're just eh, and others completely blah, but this one is my friend.
I honestly didn't add anything extra special either!
Just goes to show what a great Sketch and some fab papers (Pebbles) can do.
Edit: I ran out yesterday to buy more so that I could get another page out of them!
Shine
I started by putting my Silhouette to work in cutting a 'sunburst' pattern from the script paper, then layering the floral behind.
A few more die cuts from my Cameo to layer behind the photo's.
These shots make me smile.......my youngest has a thing for 'fake' glasses. She was almost a little disappointed at her last eye exam when she was told she had 20/20 vision! These photo's captured the modelling of her latest addition to the fashion collection.....geek style!
The title came easy - wooden veneer phrases by Studio Calico who must have known I'd be creating this page.
Finally, another Silhouette cut file, together with journalling courtesy of my Dymo.
Co-incidence or what? It wasn't until I'd finished the page that I decided to actually read what the script was all about.
Top line - "Be you. Don't let anyone dull your sparkle.........Be the reason someone smiles today.........The time to be happy is now......Don't forget to be awesome".
Exactly the message I was trying to get across and it was there all along!

I hope you're enjoying your summer vacation so far. I'm making the most of it while my parents are here for their annual visit.
Today's challenge over at........
is perfectly appropriate for this time of year, as Rosanne would like to see anything with a Summery theme.
My Mom's Birthday just happens to be occurring this week, so I went with a Summery Birthday card:
I kept things clean and simple, but played around with this one by painting some watercolours onto a mini 'sunburst' place card (Jillibean Soup), then added a stamped image. The touches of black provide a nice contrast.

Hello again.
It's Little Red Wagon day.........
..........which means it's time for a card or other suitably awesome creation.
Yes, today's is a card, and awesome of course! (lol)
Well maybe not awesome, but I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome, despite the fact that it's nothing like what I intended.
This weeks challenge is to put a 'Sun' on your project.
Easily done.....I'm feelin' Summery, even though the sun ain't shinin'!
Our vacation is imminent and we get our new bundle of fluffy puppy in less than a week........what more do I need to lift the spirits?
A card that co-operates and turns out better than expected is just the icing on the cake.
Here goes.........'Hello Sunshine!"
Now that I think on it, I'm not exactly sure what was originally intended!
All I had planned was the sun.....duh, there's a no brainer considering the challenge this week.
After that I added a little of this, popped a little of that and before you know it, I had a whole little scene going on!
Ah well, the best laid plans..........are usually no plan at all in my case so who cares?!
Papers are from Pebbles Inc. (Nutmeg Grove I believe) and the stamp is cute 'Sugarplum - Emma' from CC Designs. She's coloured with Copic's.
I've still not decided if the torn pieces are meant to be water or sand, so I popped the front layer and just stuck her toes in there........the decision is yours!

At least the sun has returned this morning.....looks like a gorgeous day out there.
Just stopping by with a layout, before we head out to look at more cute, cuddly bundles of fur........there's a puppy out there waiting to come home with us........not sure who's more excited about that, myself or my girls!
Anyhow, today's page is the final scrapbook layout using my recent DT Kit from Two Scrapbook Friends. Again it's using the 'Bumble' collection by Adorn It and I LOVE the background paper I used for this one.
Here's Mornin' Sunshine:
Most of the background work is done for me, but I did add a couple of inked clouds and some messily scattered Bakers Twine.
There's also some Martha Stewart texture paste used in combination with a hexagonal stencil, and I inked over top with a little Distress Ink.
The layers are made up of a combination of the patterned papers, die cuts and stickers all available in this collection. Oh.....I almost forgot the quirky affection I have for adding a little white out around the edge of photographs!
That just about covers everything for today.

Hows the week panning out so far?
I'm just chillin' on my countdown to Scrapfest this weekend, and then a hopefully fun filled scrappy retreat the week after.........ahhhhh tis the life!
Today though, time for a layout I created a few weeks ago and I love the colours on this one. The term 'Indian Summer' springs to mind, but quite frankly anything remotely warm at this stage in our alleged 'Spring' will do!
Here's 'Shine'.
I used a 'sunburst' mask to help create the patterned paper strips, then decided they just had to be stitched.....yeah, kinda regretted that one half way through, but totally worth it in the end.
Jornalling strips are printed via Word, Baby Boston font I believe, and I luurrve those glittery alpha's (Making Memories).
I lucked out when I found the perfect colour of flowers sitting in my stash, together with more glittered goodies.
Papers are from Simple Stories and that's about all.
I'll be back again tomorrow as I believe it's Wednesday, which means it's time to roll out the Little Red Wagon.
