Little Red Wagon # 184 - All About Mom

Good morning.

It's Carolyn's turn to host over on the Little Red Wagon blog this week, and as Mother's Day is fast approaching (this Sunday gentlemen in case you didn't know........although I doubt there are any men reading this so.......sorry ladies, I tried!), she has chosen 'All About Mom'.

Nothing like last minute for me, as usual I made this card yesterday for my Mamma and it will be rapidly making it's way across the pond to reach her.   No doubt it will arrive just a tad late.......rather a lot late actually as Mother's Day is celebrated in March in the UK, so what difference will a few more days make?

Here goes:

Everything on this one is from my stash, even the image is one I'd coloured a few months ago and has sat patiently waiting for just the right card.  On that note, don't look to closely at the image as there is a lovely little ink mark on the cap that it seems to  have attracted whilst waiting so nicely!

I'm guessing now that I said that, you had to go and examine it closely.....yes?

The digi is from Pollycraft and papers from a My Minds Eye 'Six By Six' pad.  Colouring is with Copic's and the layout was inspired by this weeks Deconstructed Sketch.

Have yourselves a great day and I'll be back later in the week,

A Monster Birthday!

Good morning.

After our mild 15 degree (although very wet!) temperatures yesterday, I woke up this morning to a few snow flurries......hmmmm not sure which I prefer!

Thought I'd post a card on here today as I finally dusted off the Copic's, coloured an image AND put it on a card.  This hasn't happened much recently because whenever I've felt the urge to colour, I do so then really can't find the mojo to do anything with it.

Made an exception for this one though and there's another out of the ordinary on here for me too.....it's not a girlie, cutesy type of image.......not even human.

I decided on the alien variety, as I just couldn't resist this little green dude from Pollycraft.

Colouring as mentioned is with Copic's and papers are from an older Jillibean Soup 6"x6" pad I dug from my stash.

I'm still really liking the punch/epoxy overlay combination tool from Epiphany Crafts.  I used this particular one to create the little banner there.

Well that's it from me but I'll be back tomorrow with a Sketchy Challenge for ya.
Till then, have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Designed To Colour

For those of you out there who love to colour in any medium...........Copic, pencils, watercolours, paints etc. you will probably be aware of  new magazine that was released a few months ago called Designed To Colour.

Designed to Color

This little gem is dedicated to the world of colouring in any form, and is a great read for anyone remotely interested in that field.

I couple of months ago I was fortunate enough to have a card accepted for publication......ME........WOW a first for sure (of course I'd like to say that's because it was the first thing I've ever submitted! (lol))

Anyhow, I've since received my own copy in print, and the allotted time has passed, which means I can post the card on my blog, so here goes.

Now I don't mind admitting it's a pretty simple card but there's a story that goes with it.

I made and submitted this card pretty close to the deadline, day before I believe.........I know what you're thinking......"Me, last minute.......surely not!", but I only discovered the magazine on this day and decided what the heck I may as well give it a go.

So I dug out my Copic's, made the card and sent it that afternoon.  I was thrilled when it was accepted but then felt a little guilty.  I almost wanted to e-mail them back explaining I should probably do better!  Still I was/am super excited and will take it no matter what.

The digi for this one btw is from By Lori Designs - quite appropriate really as these were the very first images I ever coloured!  Papers are from Authentique.

If you'd like to check out the magazine, head over to their blog where you'll find a free preview of the latest issue (I'll be making an appearance in that too!:).

Have a great day and I'll see you soon,
Jayne.x.

One of those days!

Not for me today actually....happy mood again!

This is just the theme of today's card.....I've certainly had a few days like this believe me!

The current challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog is April Showers, so as this little lady has been coloured and sitting very patiently on my desk, waiting for you know who to finally put her on a card, I thought I'd better.
It's time to 'Cheer Up'..........

As the title suggests, the name of this digi is 'One of those days', and you can find her as also previously mentioned, over at Saturated Canary.

She's coloured with Copic markers and I've added a little distress ink around the image too..........

Papers are some of my favourites right now from the Authentique 'Gathering' collection, and the card layout is inspired by a previous sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.  I've added a little bakers twine together with a couple of delicate tea roses ($1.50 bargain from Michael's!).

There's also a bargain butterfly (Dollarama) which I blinged a little with tiny pearls, and some machine stitching.  I'm not sure if you can catch it in this shot, but I forgot to mention there's Glossy Accents added to the raindrops in the image too.

That's it for today, so have yourself a good one and I'll be back on Friday.
Take care,
Jayne.x.

At your age!

Hi there, it's Wednesday so we've already made it through half the week!

Just a quick visit from me today....things to do, places to go etc. I have a quirky little card for you, and this one will eventually be making it's way to my brother. Not until April though.....am I on the ball or what?

Anyhow, here goes......it's Maurice from Pollycraft again............

I think I luuuurve Maurice! He's so darn cute.

He is of course coloured with Copic's with a touch of Glossy Accents added to his spec's.............

Papers are from a Cosmo Cricket 6"x6" pad I've had forever, the sentiment is printed using Word and the layout was inspired by the current sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

As mentioned, it's headed to my brother, so I'll show you the inside of the card........just a sampling of sibling banter..........brotherly/sisterly love and all that!

That's all from me, but I will be back on Friday as there will be a fun 'On-line Crop' starting over at the Two Scrapbook Friends forum . I have my challenge prepped and ready to go with a cute little scrapbook page too.

See you then

All you need is love.......

Yes, here I am with Valentine #2 in the mini-series of three......just doing my bit to spread the luuurve cause tomorrow's the big day you know.

Today's feature is for my oldest daughter.....remember it always has to be pretty, therefore predominantly pink on this one.........

Another cute image from Saturated Canary.....aren't they all? This one's called 'Penelope and Posey' and is coloured with Copic's..............

Paper's are from the same line as yesterday's card - We R Memory Keepers 'Love Struck', and the yummy seam binding makes an appearance again.........

I can't get enough of it right now, so be warned, it'll appear on everything for a while! The tag is cut, also from a sheet of the patterned paper.

Three buttons to finish off............

..........job done!

The card layout today, was again inspired by a previous sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

That's all folks, but I'll see you again tomorrow for the grand finale......my hubby's card for V Day!

See you then

Be Mine.......

Hi there, here I am on a snowy Sunday!

If you're looking for the Two Scrapbook Friends Valentine Blog Hop then please scroll down to the next post.....or if that's a little too much trouble (I know, it's Sunday!) then click here.

So on with today's creation. I realised the other day that I haven't posted a single Valentine on here, the main reason for this being that....well....I hadn't made any! (hanging head in shame). So the rush began on Thursday to come up with something for my darling husband, darling children, and the 50 other kids in their relevant classes! Nothing like last minute to spur the creative juices.

Anyhow the point of my rambling is that I will be posting a few Valentine's on here, from now till the big day.

For today, here's the first for my youngest............

Don't you just love sweet little mice holding love heart candies? lol

But really, she is pretty sweet. This was one of the digi's included in the Mega Bundle I picked up from Pollycraft.....lot's of cutie's in there. I'm not entirely sure if 'he' is a 'she'.......it's either Mimi or Marley....can't remember, but for today's purposes, 'he's' a 'she'........get it?

She's coloured with Copic's..........

and papers are from the We R Memory Keepers 'Love Struck' line. I added some of my new yummy seam binding ribbon (which I scrunched a little) from my scrappy friend Dee.....thanks Dee, and of course a button............

There's a teeny bit of bling added at the bottom to finish things off..........

The layout for today's card was inspired by a sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.

Well that's it from me, but don't forget to come back tomorrow for the continuation of my mini 'lovefest'!

Have a great day

Meoooow.........

Good morning. I meant to drop in on Friday with this post but didn't make it here, so I thought I'd make an appearance today.

I've been joining in with challenges again on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, and this week we started our brand new 'Sketch' challenge, drawn by members of the DT. Sharon created an awesome sketch this week and beautiful Scrapbook page to go with it, but I decided to create a card............

Like I said "Meoooow"!

Here's the sketch.........

I condensed it a little by using the main central elements for my card LO.

The digi is a freebie (I think or I could have won it....not sure!) that I picked up ages ago from Karber. This sexy lady is coloured with Copic's, and she either really needs to eat more, or next time around I need to print the image a little larger........talk about making things difficult for myself!

Paper's are from the Basic Grey 'Little Black Dress' 6"x6" pad (appropriate I thought!) with a little tulle, trim, bling and flowers added from my stash.

The sentiment is a stamp from the $1.50 bin at Michael's.

So that's it, I'll be back during the week sometime.......I'm trying to behave myself by being a regular blogger! Enjoy the rest of your day

Pretty things!

Hi there, how's it going today. This post was originally intended for 8.00am yesterday, and here we are, over 33 hours later! This is what happens when you try to cram too many things into one day. For now, I'll blame it on my desperate Christmas shopping expedition yesterday, which turned out to be semi-successful.

My card today, and here we go again...."My new favourite card" has another image from Saturated Canary. I can't get enough of these beauties at the moment, drawn by Krista Smith, and as a result of her Black Friday Sale, you'll be seeing quite a few more of them! The current challenge over on her challenge blog ends tomorrow, so here I am again, posting my entry last minute............

Now raise your hand if you would like hair like that! Gorgeous or what?

The theme for this weeks challenge is a series of inspirational photo's, but the general theme of your creation, is to be a result of whatever inspires you. So for my inspiration.......pretty things of course!

A beautiful image...........

.....together with pretty papers, ribbons, buttons, colours, stitching....you name it. As it's my new favourite card, I find it very hard to give them away (ever seen the TV show Hoarders?!!!!) But that's OK cause this one's not leaving my house. I think it will be given to my eldest daughter. Now is the time to share a little conversation we had not so long back.

After looking through my ...ahem....small collection of cards, she said to me in all seriousness "Mom, why do you never make me pretty cards?" and I replied with my patient (but silently exasperated) tone "I make you a card for your Birthday, Christmas and everything else in between" to which she replied "Yes, but they're not pretty!".

Kids...........guaranteed to give the best and most honest critique!
Well, I hope this fits the bill. Here's one last close-up of my collection of pretties........

Papers are from Authentique and colouring is courtesy of my Copic's.

Enjoy your evening and I'll see you soon

Warm wishes.

Good morning, it's a happy Friday, even if we do have snow.

I think there is something magical about December 1st, where the powers that be check their Calendar, realise we are in the last month of the year, and that we must have freezing cold temperatures with snow...........and that's what I have as I look out of my window this morning. At least it's the perfect inspiration to get into the Christmas spirit........and make a few more cards!

Today's creation was inspired by a couple of current challenges, but I'll go into those in a moment. First, let's bring her out, and you'll notice, NO sentiment, so I can't really call her anything.............

This little lady has been coloured up and sitting on my desk forevah!! Finally she has made it to a card.

The image is a digi I've had for quite a while by Kelly Kids called February Fran - Cocoa, and comes in a nice little package of different images. Unfortunately I don't think you can get it any longer, as my search on Google drew a blank!

She's coloured with Copic's and has a little Liquid Applique on her jacket to create the 'fluff', together with glitter on the ground for sparkle. The colour choice is a result of the current inspiration challenge over at The Pink Elephant, and I just have to show you the photo cause it's yummy...................

Are they not the sweetest cupcakes ever? I think if they ever made it to my house I couldn't bring myself to sample one.....far too good to look at.

So I think I pretty much covered the colour scheme, except my 'carrot orange nose' turned into........well.........red!

No-one said I was perfect!

As mentioned before, there's no sentiment on the front of this one......it's actually inside and reads "Warm wishes", which is pretty cool as it means I can use it for Christmas, Birthday or anything really. Papers are from last years 6"x6" Christmas pad by SEI, and the layout was inspired by another current challenge over at Mojo Monday...........a sketch of course.

That's it from me for today but I'll be back as soon as I can.......plenty more Christmas cards to post in the next 23 days!
Have a good one

A White on White Birthday.....

Hello, me again with my second post of the day.......another creation for the OSAAT Birthday Bash!

You can read all about the details in my previous post, but to continue our theme of celebrating with 'Girlie' things, I thought I'd make an ultra feminine, classy, but still fairly girlie, white on white card. Plus the fact that it's my MIL's birthday in a couple of weeks, so why not kill two birds with one stone. I used a beautiful image from Blackberry Lane Designs, which you can find of course at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store , called 'Tulips in Vase'.............

.........outside view..............

.......and inside............... ......close up...........

Did I add enough photo's, do ya think? lol.

So to celebrate one of our awesome sponsor's this week......'Copic'........this image is most definitely coloured with the afore mentioned. I gotta tell ya......I'm lovin me the Copic's right now. I'm still no expert, but it's definitely true that the more you use them.....the better you become (I hope!). Well I certainly feel more comfortable with them, and at least have a feel for
what I should be doing. Practise makes perfect they say.

The deets are fairly basic on here......it's a gate fold card with an extra 'flappy piece' in the center.....YES, that's a technical term! I used basic embossed white card stock together with pink for matting. A Martha Stewart punch creates the border, the stick pin is Maya Road, flowers and pearls are $$ store and the yummy ribbon has been recycled from the packaging on the PJ's I received at Christmas! The sentiment is actually a freebie I picked up quite a while ago from Devilish Designs.

That's it folks, so get yourselves over to the OSAAT challenge blog and join in the fun!

I'll be back a little later with challenge entries.....til then......have a good one.
