Little red Wagon #253 - Back To School

Good morning.

How's it going in your house?

We're finally getting back to a routine and I'm currently enjoying the peace......no TV, radio.......nothing!

Just me and the PC.

So, as it's Wednesday it's time for a brand new challenge over at........

This week, quite appropriately, Joanne would like to see a 'Back To School' card or gift.

I decided to ditch the 'apples', 'bookworms', 'schoolbus' kinda Good Luck cards as my kiddo's have reached that age where they will look at it for 2 seconds, mutter a quick thanks, then it's ditched into one of the black holes of clutter that they have carefully arranged in certain places around the house!

Totally undeserving of a unique and original creation! Lol

Nope, this time around I delved into bookmarks.

After scouring the Silhouette store I found a couple of cuddly characters, which did at least garner a few 'awwwww's' from the young un's and have been put to good use!

Totally cute and functional too.

So, off you go and get started on those Back To School projects, but don't forget to link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog when you're done.  The Girlfriends have created a little more inspiration there for you too.

I'll be back on Friday with a layout, but in the mean time I have to get my butt in gear to complete the 101 jobs that are patiently waiting for me.

Little Red Wagon #243 Animal Antics

Well hello!

I feel as though I'm finally starting to get back to normal as far as my health is concerned.  Still a slight problem with numbness in my hands but improving slowly, and at least I've managed a little crafting.

Today is Wednesday which means it's time for a new challenge over at.........

and thankfully, this week I'm able to join in.

Jan would like to see some Animal Antics, so basically any animal will do as long as there's one on there.

Here's my effort:

I feel as though it's been forever since I used a coloured image on a card, and to be honest this was one I found in my stash......already coloured from eons ago and ready to go!

The image is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Copics.  I added a little sparkle, as no pig could possibly be seen wearing a tutu with no sparkle!!

The Animal In You!

Good morning!
It's Monday and a holiday here in Canada, so I hope you're having a good one.  It also means it's time for another Crafty Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum, and as I'm filling in this week, you will have to put up with me once again!

For today's challenge, I'd like you to turn to your wild side......the animal in you!  I'd like to see a card or scrapbook page that has some sort of animal featured on there somewhere.

I use animals, the cuddly variety, on cards pretty often, but not on layouts, so I thought I'd challenge myself to create a scrapbook page with not one, but a few of our furry/feathered friends.

I can honestly say, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have ever featured a cow on one of my pages!

Papers are from October Afternoon's 'Farm Fresh' collection from a couple of years ago, as are a few of the stickers I've used.

........and a little sign cut with my Slice, to hold the title (alpha's are from K & Company)........

As I'm amongst friends, I have to share a little something with you which made me smile........you just know when I say that, that I've messed up on something right?
It wasn't until I'd finished the page (as usual!) that I'm looking things over and realise the 'goats' head appears to be in a rather unfortunate part of the 'cows' anatomy!

I wonder if you'd have noticed if I hadn't pointed that out?  More to the point, why couldn't I have noticed before I'd actually stuck everything down good and proper!
Oh well, what's done is done!
