Hello Disney!

Alrighty, I think it's about time for another post on here.

Today I'm finally finishing up my creations from a Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using another awesome collection of Disney themed papares/embellies by Queen & Co.

I finished these what seems like eons ago but still seem to find myself playing catch-up when it comes to blogging!

Oh well!

Today's page is the exact opposite to my first (which you can check out here) which captured the final day of our Disney vacation.......waiting for the bus to take us to the airport to be precise!

Nope, today's photo's were taken when we very first arrived at the Magic Kingdom.....still in Ontario weather related travel clothes!

Hello Disney!

I love that I was able to pick up the Disney style font 'Waltograph', free from Dafont to create part of the title, and I cut a film strip with my Silhouette to place behind.

The viewfinder disc is another Silhouette creation, but I imported a 'Mickey' image into the slides.  'Woodies' and some Disney flair finish that corner nicely.

The background has a little texture paste added using a stencil, and I layered a couple of chevron style arrows to co-ordinate.

Finally.....some Washi tape, and a little bling dotted on to the teeny starbursts.

That's about all but I did create a Sketch of this page, so if it's of any use, I'm posting here......

To Be Continued.........

Time for a layout I think!

This one is certainly well overdue........created for the Two Scrapbook Friends display at Scrapfest which was way back in April, but at last it's making an appearance on here.

This page is one of two Disney layouts I made using Queen & Co's collection of papers and embellies which are perfectly co-ordinated for all those 'House of Mouse' photo's.

We last visited Disney World approximately three years ago, and I think this is probably the third page I've scrapped using the hundreds of photo's I have!  Bad Momma!!

I'm never one for 'themed' pages but I did have fun with these.........I love the red/yellow/black combo for one thing and the other......happy memories of course from the happiest place on Earth!

Here goes the first page, which is technically the last, as it was the very last photo I took from this vacation......whilst waiting for the bus to take us to the airport and our journey home.

The whole page was inspired by the title.........a perfect phrase found in a collection of alpha's by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts).

I love this background paper as half the work is done for you.  I did add a little Glossy Accents to each of the yellow dots in the border, and a few sequins together with stars made from Molding Paste and a stencil.

There's also a fair few die cuts on here created using my Cameo, and of course I had to make use of the buttons and wood veneers Queen & Co have produced......the latter called 'Woody's' no less - makes me smile for more than one reason!

Finally, a little touch of Washi tape to finish things off......

That's all for now but I'll try to get the second page on here sooner rather than later!

Hakuna Matata........no worries!

How's it going, hope you all had a good weekend?

We spent Saturday buying Halloween candy then filling the little goodie bags we hand out.  I say 'we' but it really involved me buying the candy and the girls filling the bags.......kept them quiet for a good couple of hours at least!

I took them to the Cinema yesterday to see Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2......not bad - I did manage to stay awake for most of it at least!  See.......some would consider it an expensive way to get a catnap, but for those with young children, I know you will agree.....money well spent!!

So, on to today's project - a scrapbook page.

I sort of forgot I hadn't posted this and one other from a DT Kit I received from Two Scrapbook Friends a while back.  I think I've completed two since then so time for 'blogging' catch up!

This kit was using the 'Trail Mix' collection from Bo Bunny, and although it's something I would not normally choose (or rather, would tend to run a million miles from actually!), as it's very 'fishy/outdoorsy' orientated........I have two girls.......there is very little (Translate: NONE!) fishing going on in these parts.  I do however enjoy the challenge of taking a collection like this and using it for something completely different.

Most of the patterns are great ( I say 'most' as I still can't get to grips with that 'fishy' one!) and it has an awesome 'rustic' colour scheme.  There's a fab 'tree bark' pattern on one sheet which was basically the whole inspiration for today's page, so here goes.........

Hakuna Matata.

This is only the second 'Disney' page I've scrapped from our trip 2 years ago......I will get that book done some day!

I figured that tree bark would work wonderfully with these photo's from the Animal Kingdom, so I randomly cut a piece for the background.  There's also a little stamped chicken wire too.

I liked the idea of keeping with 'natural' elements so I have some wood on there (you know I like my wood!) and these awesome burlap covered alpha's for the title.

Those chevrons are made using a Martha Stewart 'photo corner' punch.....I find I use it more this way!

The combination of embellies in the bottom corner consists of a tag fussy cut from one of the sheets of PP, a butterfly paper clip (Maya Road I think), layers of paper die cuts and more burlap topped of with a pretty brad.

I hand cut the fern leaves from PP, glued a little florist wire on the back, folded them in half around the wire then snipped diagonally with scissors.  The wire gives them a sturdiness that you can then manipulate into whatever shape/position you like.......works great as feathers too if you change up the PP.

And that's about all folks!

I'm trying to get a little more organized with my blog posts, so the plan is to be back on Wednesday for Little Red Wagon day, then Friday with the second LO from this collection.........we'll see if that works out!

A Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Hello, hope it's a happy Monday and you're pretty much recovered from loosing that extra hour over the weekend!

It's the start of March break here in Canada, so off to the museum with the kiddo's later....gotta keep em busy for everyone's sake!

Thought I'd better schedule today's post, as you can guarantee there's no way I'm rising at 6.00am when I don't have too.  For that matter.......don't think I've ever risen at 6.00am.

Anyhow, time for a layout.

I was given the opportunity recently by Kristine Davidson over at Creative Scrappers, to work with their final Sketch for a 'Readers Reveal'........a fond farewell before they take a well deserved hiatus.

So here's the sketch I was given:

For some reason this sketch was screaming 'Disney layout' to me.......quite unusual as I've NEVER scrapped a Disney layout.  Guess there's a first time for everything!

So here's my first ever Disney page.

I've had these papers from Queen & Co for a while, waiting for me to start that Disney album!  I'll get around to it one day.....I hope.

I also made use of the 'Mickey' buttons I bought from Scrapfest a couple of years ago, together with lots of circles and embossing.

The title uses a variety of alpha's and also a few glittered die cuts given to me quite a while ago......thanks Carola!

A happy jack-o-lantern charm works nicely on the photograph and a few more circles create Mickey himself..........of course I had to add a little Dickie bow using scraps of yellow ribbon.

And that's it for this one.

A Not So Scary Halloween!

Hi there, hope you're all having a good week. Where have you been during the last couple of weeks I hear you ask?

Well........have we been busy bee's I tell ya, but I'm not going to let you in on exactly what just yet!

We've been planning a surprise for our girls over the last few months, and a couple of weeks ago, it was finally time to deliver the goods........so of course I made a card!

See if you can guess the surprise.............

Just in case you're still unsure, here's the verse I popped inside ...........


So after that, they were each given an envelope to open, containing their own souvenir Disney luggage tag.

Did you guess right?

Yep, after they'd finished running around the house, we spent 10 days riding, eating, greeting and generally having a whole load of fun at Disney World, Florida. It was their first visit and hopefully not the last, although my wallet has to recover first!

Halloween there was a blast.......I've never seen so many pirates in my life.....most of them adults, and we're still ploughing our way through the bags of candy we, of course, had to bring home with us!

So there you have it.
