Sweet Memories

Hey, how's it going?

Thought it was about time I posted another layout on here as I've been a class one slacker recently!  I meant to make an appearance yesterday but decided to give myself the day off as it was my Birthday..........any excuse I know!

Anyhow back to it.

This page has been lying around for a few months (hangs head in shame!) just waiting for it's debut.  I love the photograph......fond memories of a visit from my parents last Summer.

Sweet Memories

I can imagine as we speak, my Mom and Dad are testing their brains thinking "where was that photograph taken".......hehe I think I'll leave them in suspense for a little while and test them later!

Lots of distressed layers on this one......

The papers are a really nice Fall collection from last year by Authentique.  I've veered away from a fair few of their recent collections as I got a little tired with the designs, but I was reminded when creating this page how consistently awesome the quality is.

The background consists of stamping and ink stains, and lots of layers around the photograph too.

More layers on the opposite side and a sweet little cluster of embellies.

This weeks happens to be my turn for a layout over on the Scrapmuch? blog so I'll definitely be back Friday.

Till then, have a good one,

Little Red Wagon #261 - Krafty

Hi there, have you missed me yet this week?

Let's just say it was a case of Head Cold 1 - Jayne 0 for the most part!!  I'm finally starting to feel more human now, although my sinuses are still fighting a good fight.

Anyhow, I'm playing the usual catch up so let's get to this weeks..........

Jan has chosen this weeks challenge and she would like to see you get your 'Kraft' on!

Yes of course, we always want to see you getting crafty but this time you need to use a little 'kraft' cardstock too.

I decided to dig out the markers and colour for the second time in around 10 months.  I'll be the first to admit I'm terribly rusty (as you will see) but at least I had fun with this freebie I picked up from Saturated Canary this week.

As you can see I've added a few accents of 'kraft' and I've coloured the image on Kraft cardstock too.

I'm really not sure that sequins fall in with the whole distressing/burlap/Kraft kinda thing but I had the perfect colours to match my papers so they were going on this card no matter what!!

You still have time to join in with our 'krafty' challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week so why not give it a go?

The Girlfriends have also created some major goodness so head over to the blog to check it out.

You know what.......I'm going to be back tomorrow with a layout I've been meaning to post since the Summer!  Hopefully it will remind us of warmer days instead of the cold and sleet we are forecast to endure tonight!

Have a Happy Halloween,
Jayne.x.

That smile!

Good morning!
The week seems to be running away with me again.  I have my in-laws staying with us at present, having travelled from across the pond to visit, which is always enjoyable......I just need a few more hours in the day to accomplish a little crafting.

Anyhow, I did get to sit down last night and colour for an hour, something I haven't done for what seems like aaaaaages.  I even dug out the Prisma pencils, something I haven't done for even longer......oh how I've missed them!  That image hasn't made it's way to a card just yet, so I thought I'd jump on here today with a layout.  I'll be back later in the week with a hopefully gorgeous card creation!

So, today's page was created a couple of weeks ago for Shelby's challenge issued for the online crop at Two Scrapbook Friends.  The challenge was to include some form of distressing on your project, so here's my page called 'That Smile'.................

The photograph is of my eldest daughter a few years ago now, but I've always loved the way the camera caught her smile.....perfect!

Papers are from a while ago too.....My Minds Eye 'Lost & Found' which I tend to hoard as they are far to pretty to use for scrapbooking (lol).
The distressing is fairly obvious with a handmade journalling tag, printed using Word, together with die cuts and a large glass bead from Making Memories.........

There's a sweet little collection of embellishments in the bottom left corner, which layered up very easily, together with a touch more distressing...........

..........and the title is made from a combination of Maya Road chipboard alpha's (covered with some of the PP) and some epoxy stickers, which I believe were one of the first things I purchased when I started scrapbooking..........knew they would come in handy 5 years down the road!

This was one of those pages that came together so easily, no procrastinating at all, just slapped everything on there.  I've said it before and I'll say it again.......gotta love it when that happens!

Well that's all from me today but I'll see you again later in the week.
Have a great day, take care,
Jayne.x.
