Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Blowing Raspberries

Good morning!

There's a brand new Sketch over on the Scrapmuch? blog which means it's time to get your craft on!

I don't really know what it was about my page, but when I started this one I had no idea where I was going with it......the only thing I'd decided upon was the title.

Interesting where creativity takes you I guess - sometimes good places, sometimes not so!

Blowing Raspberries

Is he a whole load of cuteness or what?

Shame he looks nothing like that now after his recent 'trim'....more like a chihuahua!!

I started out with a kraft base and used my Silhouette to cut various files from the Ahoy There paper collection by Carta Bella.

Once everything was on there I splattered away with a little white acrylic paint.

Did you see I managed to get one of my faves on there?  A pin button holding down that messy thread.

And here's that title I mentioned.....the only sure thing on the page!

So all you need now is the lovely sketch and then you can join in with the challenge to try and win yourself some goodies!

Tadaaaa!

Don't forget to link up over at Scrapmuch? and check out a little more inspiration from the rest of the team.

Have a great day and I'll be seeing you again tomorrow with a sweet little page for another sweet little challenge!

Till then,

Little Red Wagon #261 - Krafty

Hi there, have you missed me yet this week?

Let's just say it was a case of Head Cold 1 - Jayne 0 for the most part!!  I'm finally starting to feel more human now, although my sinuses are still fighting a good fight.

Anyhow, I'm playing the usual catch up so let's get to this weeks..........

Jan has chosen this weeks challenge and she would like to see you get your 'Kraft' on!

Yes of course, we always want to see you getting crafty but this time you need to use a little 'kraft' cardstock too.

I decided to dig out the markers and colour for the second time in around 10 months.  I'll be the first to admit I'm terribly rusty (as you will see) but at least I had fun with this freebie I picked up from Saturated Canary this week.

As you can see I've added a few accents of 'kraft' and I've coloured the image on Kraft cardstock too.

I'm really not sure that sequins fall in with the whole distressing/burlap/Kraft kinda thing but I had the perfect colours to match my papers so they were going on this card no matter what!!

You still have time to join in with our 'krafty' challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week so why not give it a go?

The Girlfriends have also created some major goodness so head over to the blog to check it out.

You know what.......I'm going to be back tomorrow with a layout I've been meaning to post since the Summer!  Hopefully it will remind us of warmer days instead of the cold and sleet we are forecast to endure tonight!

Have a Happy Halloween,
Jayne.x.

Love You To The Moon

Happy Saturday!

We made it through the first week of school, or part week anyhow!  Only another 40 something to go.

I didn't quite make it back here yesterday as time ran away with me.  We're having a mini Spring Fall clean out.....tidying out the garage ready for Winter, having a clothing clear out, so yesterday I managed to find 8 bag loads for the consignment store.

I've yet to tackle the coat closet.......almost afraid to venture in there!

Anyhow, I am here today and I have the second layout from my Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using the 'Ahoy There' collection from Carta Bella.

I mentioned in my first post here that I love the quality of Carta Bella patterned papers, and today's examples are no exception, but they do have the added bonus of including a  Kraft patterned paper.........could it get any better?!

My page is also a tribute to my DH who doesn't get scrapped all that often, although he seems to have made a few more appearances lately!

Love You To The Moon.

Ooooh look at all that white space!

Yes, I'll admit, I was itching to fill it, but nothing seemed to work so I left it 'as is'.

The main design is obviously the variety of triangles both paper (which I stitched to the page) and chipboard (which I painted with acrylic paint).

I had a completely different title and idea for this page, but when I was flicking through my stash looking for something else, I came across a package of journal kinda tags from Jillibean Soup.

A new title was born!

Of course I had to use another of those lovely nautical wooden stars, and a touch of messy stitching worked well.

Finally.........embossing powder!

My new, old, reborn love!

I've thrown this stuff on everything recently and I'm thoroughly enjoying using old stash in a new(er) way.

This time I applied it over a 'brush stroke' stamp and placed it here and there around the page.

I think that just about covers things so I guess it's time for me to get ready for work.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week,

Little Red Wagon #249 - Embossing

It's that time of the week again where we need to be digging into those wagons............

....and this time around Jan would like to see a little embossing.

Or a lot, the choice is yours really!

In fact, you even get to choose whether you'd like to take the wet or dry route, if you know what I mean?!  Just make sure there's at least one variety on there.

I thought I'd go with the old 'stamp', 'powder', 'heat gun' method, just to get back to my roots.

I guess wet embossing could be considered by some as a little old school these days........it's one of those things like eyelets and brads that we forget about as newer and probably cooler embellies are released.

So, I'm presuming this girl must just be a little old fashioned cause I've never really given up on the eyelets, and wet embossing has made a comeback in a few of my layouts recently!

Here's today's card:

.........an abundance of embossing powder!

Lot's of fussy cutting too........told you I was an old fashioned gal!

I happened to have one single flower left over so waste not..........

Why not join us for this weeks challenge as I'm sure you have a few embossing folders and powders tucked away in your stash?

Just remember to link up over on the blog, and check out what the Girlfriends have created for you this week.

I'll be seeing you tomorrow as I have a few layouts still waiting to make an appearance.

Have a good one,
Jayne.x.
