Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - The 3 Amigos

Hey there, are we enjoying our Winter Wonderland here in Canada and the States?

Not.

I can honestly say I'm sick of Winter already and we haven't even started the season yet!

Anyhow, one thing is sure to cheer us up.......a new Sketch over on the Scrapmuch? blog and a little inspiration from Team B too.

Here's my effort this week:

The 3 Amigos.

This photograph brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

It was taken as we were on route to our very first camping expedition this last Summer.  The car was soooo ridiculously packed that no-one could move an inch!  I turned to take a snapshot of the three passengers in the rear and they all seemed to be posed perfectly.  In reality, I think they had no other choice as they were cramped into that one position for the whole journey!

For my background on this page, I have chalk ink stippled through a stencil to add a few more random lines on there, then distress ink to create the coffee mug stains.

Two of my favourite types of embellies.......wood and buttons/pin badges.

Finally, I decided to create an envelope flap kind of thing to represent the top portion of the sketch.

Talking of the Sketch, here is this weeks fabulous inspiration provided by Laura.

Feeling inspired to run to your crafty space?

You have 9 days left to enter your own interpretation of this or any of the November Sketches.  Just link up over on the Scrapmuch? blog to be in with a chance of winning.

I'm off this weekend for our annual awesome scrapbook retreat with the Scrapmuch girls.......so much fun and hopefully a little productive too!

See you next week,

Little Red Wagon #239 - Buttons and Bows

Hi there........it's Wednesday which means it's time for this weeks challenge over at............

I'm leading the challenge today and I'm going nice and easy on you!

I'd like to see you use that dependable duo that's a staple in everyone's stash I'm sure, and definitely one of my 'go to' faves.......buttons and bows.

You can use a little or a lot - the choice is yours.

Here's my offering:

I love this cute little clothes line set I found over at the Silhouette store quite a while back.

I resisted the urge to couple the buttons and bow together as I would have normally, on say...ohhhh probably every other card I've made!

Nope, this time they were separated a very healthy distance apart.

Papers are from the Family Ties collection by Pebbles which joined my stash maybe a year or two ago, and the sentiment was drawn with a Sketch pen and my Cameo.

No excuses this week as we all know you have plenty of buttons and ribbon laying around, so why not get creating and link up your project over on the blog.

I'll be sure to stop by, so check back there again on Tuesday for our Featured Faves.

I'll be back here again Friday with a page of the happiest place on Earth!

Till then, enjoy your week,
Jayne.x.

Day At The Museum.

Hello all.

Thank goodness it's Friday and I have a day off.........well almost - the 3rd load of laundry is in the dryer, one more in the washing machine and I'm just about to start prepping dinner.

Time to take a break though for one little blog post.

Another layout just for fun and this one's a double!  Yep definitely got my quota of doubles in this year........anymore than one does it for me!

This one's been gathering dust since the Spring so it's about time it made an appearance:

Day At The Museum

Everything's pretty self explanatory - no rocket science going on here so I'm not going to bore you with details.

Just a few close-ups........

Papers are from the 'Family Ties' collection by Pebbles.

Time for me to move on to dinner preparations......beef stew........hey it's snowing out so it couldn't be anything else!

Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday,

Little Red Wagon #198 - Sunshine!

Hello again.

It's Little Red Wagon day.........

..........which means it's time for a card or other suitably awesome creation.

Yes, today's is a card, and awesome of course! (lol)

Well maybe not awesome, but I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome, despite the fact that it's nothing like what I intended.

This weeks challenge is to put a 'Sun' on your project.

Easily done.....I'm feelin' Summery, even though the sun ain't shinin'!

Our vacation is imminent and we get our new bundle of fluffy puppy in less than a week........what more do I need to lift the spirits?

A card that co-operates and turns out better than expected is just the icing on the cake.

Here goes.........'Hello Sunshine!"

Now that I think on it, I'm not exactly sure what was originally intended!

All I had planned was the sun.....duh, there's a no brainer considering the challenge this week.

After that I added a little of this, popped a little of that and before you know it, I had a whole little scene going on!

Ah well, the best laid plans..........are usually no plan at all in my case so who cares?!

Papers are from Pebbles Inc. (Nutmeg Grove I believe) and the stamp is cute 'Sugarplum - Emma' from CC Designs. She's coloured with Copic's.

I've still not decided if the torn pieces are meant to be water or sand, so I popped the front layer and just stuck her toes in there........the decision is yours!

Hop on over to the Little Red Wagon blog and check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have been up to.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge......think of it as a little encouragement to the real ball of fire in the sky........maybe he'll be guilt tripped into making an appearance!

Have a great day, and I think I may see you once more this week if I get my act together.

Take care,
Jayne.x.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Good morning.....here I am bright and early for a change!

Sheesh did we get a nice little storm yesterday, and a power outage to match.  You can guarantee these things always seem to happen around dinnertime!  Yesterday's 4pm till 9.15pm was no exception so by 7.30pm we were dining on sandwiches for dinner.......couldn't even brave the thunder/lightning and winds to crank up the BBQ.

Anyhow, hopefully it has cleared the humidity a little.

The reason I'm here on this bright, early Saturday morning (well actually I'm still probably lying in bed........you know very well I scheduled this post!) is to wish my dear Dad a very Happy Birthday........the BIG 70!

Couldn't let the occasion pass by without some recognition, and of course a card posted on here, so here goes:

Another 'Maurice' image from Pollycraft - I can't resist him when it comes to male cards!

Papers are from Pebbles Inc. and colouring is of course with Copic's.

That's about it for today - short and sweet.

Happy Birthday Dad........have a fabulous, relaxing (toothache free!!) day.......love ya!

See you all soon,
Jayne.x.
