Little Red Wagon #261 - Krafty

Hi there, have you missed me yet this week?

Let's just say it was a case of Head Cold 1 - Jayne 0 for the most part!!  I'm finally starting to feel more human now, although my sinuses are still fighting a good fight.

Anyhow, I'm playing the usual catch up so let's get to this weeks..........

Jan has chosen this weeks challenge and she would like to see you get your 'Kraft' on!

Yes of course, we always want to see you getting crafty but this time you need to use a little 'kraft' cardstock too.

I decided to dig out the markers and colour for the second time in around 10 months.  I'll be the first to admit I'm terribly rusty (as you will see) but at least I had fun with this freebie I picked up from Saturated Canary this week.

As you can see I've added a few accents of 'kraft' and I've coloured the image on Kraft cardstock too.

I'm really not sure that sequins fall in with the whole distressing/burlap/Kraft kinda thing but I had the perfect colours to match my papers so they were going on this card no matter what!!

You still have time to join in with our 'krafty' challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week so why not give it a go?

The Girlfriends have also created some major goodness so head over to the blog to check it out.

You know what.......I'm going to be back tomorrow with a layout I've been meaning to post since the Summer!  Hopefully it will remind us of warmer days instead of the cold and sleet we are forecast to endure tonight!

Have a Happy Halloween,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #260 - Oh Baby!

Good morning again......my second post here today!

I've finally managed to take a photograph of my project for this weeks.........

and as you can see from my title, our theme this week was chosen by Joanne and she would like to see some 'baby' creations.

We always need a few of those kind of cards right?

Here's mine, and of course I chose 'pink'........we are a girlie household after all!

To create the footprints I chose a 'rhinestone' cut file from the Silhouette store.  Only problem was I didn't have enough rhinestones/pearls to cover them!

Plan B.......dig out the Pearlescents from BoBunny and get dotting!

OK that's it from me so why not get all warm and fuzzy and create your own baby project?  Just link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog, but don't forget to check out what the rest of the Girlfriends have been up to whilst you're there.

I am planning on doing absolutely nothing over the weekend as I can feel the joyous start to a head cold! Even so there are still numerous loads of laundry waiting for me, and did I mention I still have to make a couple of Halloween costumes?

Just an average weekend all round then!

Have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Snow

Good morning.

I'm totally flying by the seat of my pants this week.......hubby's away, no day off work this week and of course my girls seem to have more things scheduled than ever!

All this means I'm stretched in 3 different directions and definitely not much time for crafting, but fortunately I did just about manage a layout for this weeks Sketch challenge over at Scrapmuch?

(I'll be back with a second post later today, for this weeks Little Red Wagon......only 2 days late!)

So, another great Sketch provided by Laura and this one was calling for a little mixed media.

Snow.

I'm sure you can tell from my expression that I'm a huge fan of Winter!

This was one of those 'shovel 4 times in a day' kinda days from last year......the best!!!!

I started the page by dabbing Mister Huey's white mist onto the background, with a scrunched up plastic bag.

I then added Martha Stewart Texture Paste through a stencil, and cut a few random sections of hexagons to layer........patterned papers are from Carta Bella.

The snowflakes are cut using a punch and I dotted a few pearls/rhinestones here and there.

Finally a little lace tape along the photographs (which I framed with a coat of White Out) and some journalling to set the mood.

Here is the fourth and final sketch for October's Scrapmuch? Challenges.......

......and you know how much you'd like to play along, so what are ya waiting for?

Just link up your own creation over on the blog, and you could be in with a chance of winning some goodies!

Have a great day, but I'll be back again in a couple of hours for this weeks (late) Little Red Wagon post......just as soon as it's light enough to take a photograph.

Have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #259 - Spooky Spooky

Hello again........I'm having what seems like the usual computer problems this week......pretty much a daily occurrence here!

Anyhow I'm managing on my notebook so apologies for my post being the obligatory 'one day' late, but at least it's here.

This week over at........

we have a new team member!  Heather has joined the ranks and this week she would like to see some Spooky Halloween goodness.  Seems about right for this time of year.

I hopped on over to the Silhouette store to see if there were ant interesting cut files and came up with these two........

A perfect card for my youngest daughter's teacher......

and I couldn't resist the treat box because it was cute!

Well......cute for a bat anyhow!

OK you know you need to get moving on those Halloween projects so why not jump in and link up your own creation on over the Little Red Wagon blog.

The Girlfriends have been pretty busy too.

I will hopefully see you again tomorrow with a layout......as long as everything co-operates!

Have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Sketchy Friday at Scrapmuch? - We Are Family

Good morning.

My computer is still co-operating......a blogging friend suggested I pat it and tell it what a good PC it is everyday, so it's the most loved appliance in our house right now! Lol

Another Friday has rolled around which means it's time for a new Sketch Challenge over on the Scrapmuch? blog.  Team B are up this week so I have a layout for you, and I was a very good girl for digging into my paper stash this time around.

I decided to use some I've had for a couple of years from the MME Lush collection which is pretty monochromatic, so I paired it with touches of gold........a hot trend right now.

We Are Family

I put the trusty Silhouette to work in cutting a heart and a 'Polaroid' style frame with wording added.

Embellies are in the form of sequins, twine, buttons, and some acetate stars from Heidi Swapp I also found in my stash.

More cutting for the title.........all of the gold pieces are cut from a single sheet of Bazzil foil cardstock I found in a 'winnings' stash I received a while ago.

Finally, a few layered pennants, brads, and a little doodling through a honeycomb stencil from The Crafters Workshop.

That's about all for my page, but here is the awesome sketch Laura provided for this weeks challenge.

I flipped it 90 degrees clockwise to accomodate my photo's.

Why not try your hand at this one and link up over on the Scrapmuch? blog to be in with a chance of winning a prize?  You have until the end of the month to play along with any, or all of the four sketches provided.

We also have a couple of new DT members joining us.......intros are over on the blog so why not drop by and say 'Hi'.

Have a great weekend.  I'm hoping to get my craft on at some point (around work and laundry!) so I hope you do to,

Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #258 - Thanks and Thanksgiving

Hello there.

I'll be honest with you when I say I'd given up all hope of managing a post for Little Red Wagon this week!

My computer took it's final breath (well actually it's 3rd time around final breath!) last Thursday and I've been valiantly attempting a little CPR ever since.

To no avail.

This, hot on the heels of my dryer biting the dust last week and having to purchase one of those, and then there's the dishwasher, and new brake pads.....but we won't go there!

Needless to say, any hope of purchasing a new computer in the near future were dashed, and my blogging days were transformed to a dreamlike state.

However, yesterday I caught a small glimmer of hope in the form of a flashing cursor and behold.......we have life!

This thing is like a phoenix I tell ya - rising out of the ashes for one more blog post!

Well hopefully it will be for more than one blog post, but I won't hold my breath just yet.

I will however tell you that I ran up to my crafty closet last night and whipped together a card for this weeks..........

Tracy is hosting our challenge and quite appropriately she would like us to share a little 'Thankfullness' for .....oh......say.......computers and dryers that work.........general stuff like that!

Thanksgiving will be celebrated this weekend here in Canada, and myself being far too English to celebrate such a holiday, took the 'Thank you' route for my creation........

I apologize for the wishy-washy photograph!  I took and retook but the colour scheme still produces the same effect.

Shame cause it's so pretty in real life......honest!

Continuing with my re-born love for the use of embossing powder on scrapbook pages, I thought I'd progress on to cards.

I added a button and a pretty little pebble then all done.

You know there's always a bunch of inspiration posted from the Girlfriends over on the Little Red Wagon blog so why not hop on over and take a look.  You can link up your own 'Thankful' creation whilst you're there.

I will be back tomorrow for a Scrapmuch? Sketchy Friday challenge, technology permitting, so till then have a good one,

Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #257 - In Stitches

Good morning!

It's Wednesday which means it must be time for another challenge over at......

It happens to be my turn for this weeks challenge, so I'm going with one of my trusty favourites.......Stitching!

Real or faux, doesn't matter as long as there is some form of thread resembling pattern on your creation!

I absolutely love the look of 'real' sewing on a card or layout, but unfortunately I'm usually too lazy to fetch my sewing machine from the basement, or just a little mentally challenged when it comes to achieving a beautifully straight line!

So unfortunately, for my sample you'll have to make do with a fine line marker and a (not so) steady hand!

Looking back now, I think my 'faux stitching' turned more into 'faux doodling' with my uneven zig-zags, but I'm sure you get the general idea.

This is also the first image I have coloured in at least nine months!

I kinda lost my mojo when my computer crashed back then, and I lost the whole of my digi collection.......a few hundred to say the least.  I hadn't got the heart or motivation to start collecting again so.......I just stopped!

Fortunately for me, the other night I was trawling back through old emails from 2012 and found some which still had attachments of some of my favourite Saturated Canary images.......joy!

I finally forced myself to pick up a marker and get back on the bicycle so to speak.

After all.......I am now the proud owner of 24 digital images!!!!

Note to self: When you have not coloured anything for....oh.....say......nine months or more, maybe you should start with something you were at least familiar with before (Copics!) and not something you had never quite got to grips with in the first place! (Promarkers!!).

Just sayin'!

Oh well, it's a start.

Hopefully you will have some success with the sewing machine, needle and thread, or marker and whip up some fabulously stitched creations.

Just link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog and we'll be sure to stop by.

Don't forget also, to check out a little inspiration from the rest of the Girlfriends whilst you're there.

Have a great week,
Jayne.x.
